January Holidays

January Sales & Cheap Holiday Deals

January sales pricing hits package holidays just as hard as retail, and the destinations below deliver the best combination of low cost, warm weather, and reliable sunshine for the price.

• Tenerife: Tenerife is the most popular January destination from Ireland precisely because it delivers: average highs of 20°C in the south, 2,800 hours of annual sunshine, and all-inclusive packages available from under €500 per person including flights. The resort strip between Los Cristianos and Costa Adéje carries the highest density of family-friendly hotels on the island, with heated pools, evening entertainment, and direct beach access all within the package price. January pricing can be 30 to 40 per cent lower than the same hotel in July, making this the single best-value warm-weather option available from Irish airports in the first month of the year.
• Egypt: Egypt's eastern coast in January offers some of the most competitive all-inclusive package pricing in the Irish market, with seven-night stays including flights available from well under €600 per person. Sea temperatures hold at 22°C through the winter, meaning snorkelling remains viable without a wetsuit, and reef dive visibility in January is frequently cited as cleaner than the summer months when algae growth increases. The January sales period consistently produces the lowest per-night prices of the year for these eastern coast resorts, making this the most cost-effective warm-weather beach holiday available.
• Cyprus: Cyprus in January averages 17°C on the south coast, which is cool enough to explore Paphos archaeological sites on foot but warm enough that the seafront promenade at Limassol is perfectly comfortable by midday. January packages at four-star Paphos hotels are typically 40 to 50 per cent cheaper than their June equivalents, making this one of the best months to access quality accommodation at budget prices. Almond-blossom season starts in late January across the Troodos foothills, adding a genuinely spectacular inland landscape to the standard beach and history combination.
• Costa Blanca: The Costa Blanca's Benidorm and Alicante resorts operate year-round, and January is the month when all-inclusive packages reach their lowest prices, with seven-night deals including flights from Dublin and Cork available from under €450 per person at selected hotels. Benidorm's old town — Casco Antiguo — sits above a crescent bay with a genuinely characterful maze of narrow streets and seafront restaurants that are entirely crowd-free in January. The guaranteed mild climate, competitive pricing, and comprehensive entertainment infrastructure make this the most straightforward budget January option for Irish travellers.
• Lanzarote: Lanzarote's January average of 18°C and near-zero rainfall record make it the most weather-reliable cheap winter sun destination from Ireland. Famara beach on the north coast is one of Europe's finest surf spots in January, when Atlantic swells reach their seasonal peak, while Playa Blanca in the south offers calm, protected shallows for those who prefer swimming over surfing. All-inclusive packages at Playa Blanca resorts in January are consistently among the lowest per-night prices of any warm destination reachable from Irish airports.
