Restaurants are also located some 100 m away and public transport links can be found 3 minutes away on foot, the bus station about a 3-minute drive away and the tourist centre of La Barra, around 15 minutes away by car. The Atlantic Ocean is just some 600 m from the hotel and the capital of Uruguay, Montevideo, can be reached in around an hour and a half by car.

We had a lovely stay at AWA. The room was comfortable and the breakfast very nice. We didn’t use it but there was a spa with sauna and indoor pool. The AWA Hotel was a complete disappointment, and certainly not a 4-star hotel as advertised. The rooms are small and tired, bathrooms were in need of repair - cracked tiles, moldy appearance. There was no desk, but only a single plastic chair. The hotel is located in a somewhat residential area, so quiet, but a bit remote to get to restaurants and beaches. AWA Boutique is a lovely small hotel for a getaway.Located in a residential area about 1,5 miles from the beach/bus terminal and walking distance to a shopping mall it’s a tranquil place to relax.
