This city and conference hotel enjoys a strategic location on the Rambla de Montevideo. It lies just a few metres from the port, in the financial and commercial heart of the city. Does not deserve to be in NH Hotel chain. Very old, run down, poorly maintained. NOT a 4 star hotel.

I booked this hotel because I am a member of NH loyalty program, and often stay at other NH hotels. This one does not deserve to be an NH Hotel. I do not understand the high ratings it receives. Other than that the location is close to the old city tourist area and the Rambla, I do not recommend it and would not stay again. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff. There is no usable roof terrace as described in listing. The AC did not work, nor the TV remote, nor the refrigerator. Mold in the shower, broken dirty windows, overpriced bar and restaurant with poor food. Poorly maintained rooms (and hotel in general) in poor condition. We booked the "romantic escape" but didn't receive the wine or amenity until we asked for it. When we asked for a wine opener, they said "take it down to the bar yourself". Only 1 electric outlet in the entire room, all the others were covered up rather then being repaired. No concierge or tourist info. Very small room, no luggage rack, old dilapidated furniture. Breakfast poor and cold coffee.

The NH is the friendliest place when you need to have an excellent meal at any time. Good is first rate and staff are attentive very polite and make you feel at home! Not what you would expect from an NH hotel

We chose this hotel for its location - which was perfect for sightseeing. Unfortunately, the rooms are super dated. The shower pressure was good (a pleasant surprise!) but the beds in the twin room were so lumpy, we both sank into the middle of our mattresses. It was like a crater in the center of the mattress -- these are in desperate need of an update! Breakfast was also really not good. No coffee machine, just filter coffee. Tons of super sweet, sugary pastries, but almost no savory options. We tried to stick to the cheese and cold cuts but the trays were often empty. Staff is slow to respond... slow to replenish items, never cleaning the empty tables from dirty plates... one morning, one of the staff dropped food on the floor while clearing a table and just left it there, ignoring it and walking around it 100 times while continuing to put clean plates on the table for the next guest. She never picked it up... it's probably still there. Not up to NH standards at all.
