A beautiful hotel in a beautiful area
We stayed here as part of our G Adventures tour. It's a lovely hotel in a beautiful area. All shops and restaurants were close by with most attractions a short walk too. Well located but not perfect
This hotel is very close to the ald colonial quarter located. Everything is inbetween a short walking distance. But everything is a bit worn out. It definetly needs a renovation. The staff is helpful and very friendly. The wifi works well in the lobby but not in the rooms.Although you should never expect a great breakfast in Uruguay - here it's just bad. Good, clean hotel
I stayed at the Royal for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it...About a 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal or a quick taxi ride and right in the middle of town. Close to all amenities, shops, restaurants and a 5 minutes stroll down to La Rambla and River del la Plata. I was in a room on the 6th floor and can be accessed by stairs or the elevator. My friend booked the hotel and I was quite worried as reviews on the beds and pillows were not good. So I prepared myself for a pretty awful night’s sleep. However this was not the case.The hotel offers a very clean and friendly environment. The rooms are of a good size and very neat. The breakfast is an ‘American style’ but with some extras.
