    My husband and I stayed here to attend the US Open Final. The location right off the ferry is ideal! Our room, a waterview King was in one of the detached Annex buildings on the property and required climbing a flight of old stairs. Ok for us, but be very aware if you have injury or mobility issue to ask for ground floor room. There was a shared outdoor space with a building directly across which blocked water view considerably. It was a peekaboo view. Not something I was going to complain about but if you are spending around $500 per night average, it may be worth being very specific at check in. The room itself was spacious with a nice sitting area separate from the bedroom. It had an odor, not sure if it was mildew or some tyoe of cleaner. Hot sleepers take note! There is a mini split in the living area only. The bedroom did not have any air vent and instead relies on the living room unit to cool. Too warm for me at night so ask for a fan or pack one in car if you like cool sleeping room with air circulating. The fan they provided was very loud but it was needed. They have outdoor music at the restaurant which was great and festive. The surrounding town is adorable. We had excellent Italian at Pizzeria Napoletana about a 5 min walk. Also had fantastic cocktails in the indoor bar at the Castaway right across the street. The Black Pearl onsite is great for dinner and breakfast. All in all a very nice place in a charming family oriented port.

    I’ve went to Danfords several years ago on a couple occasions. This is in regards to a gift card I had which they refuse to honor . They refused to even try to work with me and only said the gift card I have has expired even though there is no expiration date on the card and was told 2 years ago the card never expires. So unprofessional . This is my story .I received a gift card a little over ten years ago for a free room or dinner . I know that’s a long time . 2 years ago I called up and asked how I go about using it and I was told the card has no expiration date and there is no expiration date on the card . I figured I’d wait to use it for my 25th wedding anniversary which is this Monday . I called Danfords and was told that the card expired, there’s new laws in place . That’s ridiculous, this card was paid for and there are no expiration dates on the card . I’m trying to go on a Monday night and I’m sure there’s plenty of rooms available yet Danfords basically told me there’s nothing they will do about it and basically I have to chalk it up as a loss . I hope this review will steer people away from ever purchasing a gift card from Danfords and hopefully take their business elsewhere. Imagine taking money for something and not honoring it cause it’s old but nowhere does it say expired

    The room was beautiful, make sure you check that the refrigerator is on if you plan to use it but otherwise fantastic experience.

    great location, beautiful views, large clean room. had a great meal at the restaurant on property, the black pearl. there was also a nice bar with live music
