My stay started off on the wrong foot with the front desk staff being misleading. They offered us a discount on parking if we attended what they described as a “complimentary breakfast.” In reality, it was a high-pressure timeshare presentation. Local public transportation stops nearby, allowing you to visit all over the city, including the Arboretum , zoo, Japanese Garden and International Rose Test Gardens only a 20 minute MAX train ride away. While there are many unhoused people in downtown Portland, they do not bother people and I never felt unsafe walking to nearby restaurants or shops.
