  The room was dirty

  The views from the balconies are unbeatable. We sat and watched the ferry come and go. The room was nice, large enough with updated furniture. The bathroom not updated however acceptable.Problem: The room was filthy. Once we noticed the dirt, we couldn't sleep in that room until we cleaned. We got some disinfectant and a cleaning rag from the office and went to work. I told the maids about it the next morning and invited them in to see for themselves. I will say, they did seem a bit dismissive and tried to explain that during the busy summer, "they don't really have the time to clean all surfaces".The pictures attached say it all.   They like to rip you off buyer beware

  My husband and I were supposed to go there at the end of our 3 Month Rd. trip. On the way there we got into a minor car accident and I called the hotel who told me they were very sorry and they would refund my money and there would be no penalty for that. They have not refunded my money. I have called several times and left several messages for the manager to call me back and I’ve gotten no return calls. I’ve sent two emails. I’ve got no return emails and I still don’t have my money so not only was I in a car accident by their staff that there would be no penalty for not showing up since the accident was five hours from their location. I am considering legal action since I do have an email stating there would be no penalty. So I smashed my car and also get screwed out of $350 for my room. Geoffery Hotel Manager, General Manager at Tides Inn & Suites, responded to this review I'm not sure if your reservation was made directly through the hotel or if you used a third party, but hotel policy is that we pre-authorise your card when you arrive (which you did not arrive, obviously), and we do not actually charge your card until you depart. Generally, if you made a reservation through Expedia or Booking.com and you paid them online, you must initiate the refund process with them.   Great view but that's about it!

  The view is really great and close to town. We found the bed to be comfortable and seemed clean. Unfortunately that's about all the positives I have to say about our stay there.The room is quite small and seems like once upon the time it must have been a lovely place to stay but whoever the owners are they are letting it lose all the love it was once given. The first thing we noticed upon arriving was that the deck we had attached to our room had animal feces all over (possibly racoon?) and bird feces all over the window. Chairs on the deck were super uncomfortable and table was missing. There was nothing private about it since the floors above us and to our side all looked at our patio, we felt like we were on stage.We were on the ground floor and could hear every single foot step and sound the people above us made. This made going to sleep difficult and waking up way too early. I have allergies to mold and asthma, the room appeared to be filled with mold in the walls, you couldn't see it but you could tell. As a result I had difficulty breathing all night. The paint was coming off throughout the room and on the deck.The pillows were disgusting, they were stained and almost flat, seems like they hadn't bought new pillows in 20 years. As a result we had to go out and buy new pillows for our room. I did share some of my concerns with Geoffrey (the manager) who listened and agreed with some of my concerns but that was as far as that went. Considering we didn't get much sleep there and that I actually became ill as a result of staying there it would have been nice to get an offer of a little bit of money off of a $200 a night stay. It feels like this hotel can get away with all of this due to having a great view which is really sad when it comes to what bottom standards should be for spending money these days.   Very Comfortable Stay!

  I was very impressed with location, simplicity and comfort of our room! We had a waterfront room, and while the balcony was in need of paint, it was stable and clean. The room was not big, but there was storage under the extremely comfortable bed, and it is very close to the ferry. The room was clean and met our needs!   Amazing view and friendly staff!

  We booked the Premium King Room. Which was very spacious and clean. The view was beautiful, right by the oceanside which brightens up the room during the day time. We checked in late due to some issue with our trip, but Skeeter stayed and waited for us to arrive. Given that he had to stay late, past his shift, he was super nice and understanding. Definitely felt welcomed with his positive energy! We were really grateful for him staying beyond his shift to wait for us, it made our long day better at the end. Overall we had a great experience, the room was clean and the staff were great and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and come back.
