    Catfished by this hotel

    rating05 Mar 2026

I don't think I have ever been catfish by a hotel room like this ever or if I have it has been a long time. View my photos to see some expectation versus reality photos for a "standard king room." Of course I never expect a hotel room to look exactly like the photos online, but I do expect at least some similarities, and this is not the quality I expect from a Curio Collection hotel with Hilton. The room smelled funny when I first walked in, and it either went away or I am just used to it. A closet does not exist, it is a small rack that they have mounted the mini fridge inside of so you cannot hang your clothing without having it drape all over and behind the dusty fridge. None of the fixtures are as updated and elegant as they look online and are pretty beat up in my room. The bathroom is probably the worst part in my opinion. Again, view my photos for a closer look, but I expected a spacious walk-in shower and enough vanity countertop space to put out all of my things and get ready for a wedding which I'm here for. The sink vanity barely has enough room for my toiletry bag let alone pulling everything out of that bag. God forbid you have two people in here in need of space. The shower is about half of the size that is shown online, all of the fixtures in it are muddied with caulk, the door does not extend all the way to the bottom nor does it have a drip edge, so water blasts the door and spills out onto the floor. Looking at the corners in the room itself, the wallpaper is either peeling from erosion behind it or there are piles of dust bunnies building up. If you have allergies, this may end up being more of a problem for you than it is for me. There is a folding suitcase stand available but that is it. The "desk" shown in the photos does not exist. It is a piece of wood propped up by a small wooden hinge and cannot sustain much weight, so it is useless for anything other than a light bag or snacks. There is no ironing board or iron, but there is a handheld steamer. The TV is decent and allows for easy sign on to streaming apps. Have not had much interaction with staff as I used self check in on the Hilton Honors app. No complimentary water offered as a Hilton Honors Diamond guest, they charged them to me $15 F&B credit for the day.Bed is reasonably comfortable.Long story short... I should have stayed at the Embassy Suites like I had originally planned. I got sucked into the photos and "historic preservation" gimmick. Never again.

Like Lindsay Buckingham sang... Never Going Back Again!

    rating23 Feb 2026

Lord, where do I begin? I can tell you that this is probably one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. It was tired, old, and very, very dirty. The room itself was quite large, and that was great. But the view? Parking Lot with bright lights and dirty windows to look out of. Forget parking, it took almost an hour just to figure out what the hell the useless valet guys were for when we clearly needed assistance and they were too busy hustling for the crappy restaurant we ended up eating at with the horrifically bad food next door which I guess was part of the hotel itself. Unreal! I swear to god, it felt like Thunderdome trying to find anywhere to park overnight that was either open or wasn't completely full or didn't cost as much as a steak dinner! No signage around the hotel's parking "lot" made a 5 minute hunt for parking a total nightmare for forty five minutes. SMH! The room had a strange, musty odor and the beds were haphazardly made, no sharp hospital corners, no care at all. Very sad looking furniture that didn't match. The entire experience was one of disappointment at every single turn! Basic things like towels and well made beds and clean furniture would have made a big difference in my review but this hotel is a crime scene waiting to happen, as it is also very unsafe.Clean? No. The lampshade on one of the lamps had some sort of yellowish brown stain on the side that looked really disgusting. I couldn't bring myself to touch the lamp to turn it on. Every inch of space in that hotel room was covered with a layer of dust like I've never seen before outside of the Brooklyn Public Library. We came back to the room at maybe 6pm the next day only to discover it still hadn't been turned over. The BR was clean, but we were each only given three towels, two of which were either hand towels or a slightly larger towel for god knows what a/w/a a regular sized towel that was rough and scratchy. Nothing about this room felt elegant, high end or even mid range; the furniture was scuffed, scratched and old. Over $200 a night for this kind of experience is totally unacceptable. What's even more unacceptable? Unbothered staff taking damn smoke and coffee breaks and propping the security/exit doors OPEN, placing guests safety at risk. I literally had to remove the cardboard and then replace it because the staff seemed quite, uh, rough lookin. I did NOT feel safe in this hotel. I do not think anyone should stay in a hotel that has such lax staff and security and cleanliness standards. To make a long story longer, I'll pay twice the amount per night if I can stay in a safe hotel, no joke. I always try to make sure the door is double locked and that me and my companions are safe. Stay far away from this place if you're traveling alone or are not too street savvy or yeah just like clean and fresh and nice accommodations. The lack of care is evident: Stained curtains, carpeting, and furniture and a complete absence of rudimentary customer service. How do you walk up to snobby looking overdressed and bored front desk people and complain about the state of your room when clearly they themselves could care less? You don't. You write reviews, you write letters, and you try to get your money back for poor quality service. Wish me luck!
