Dark, inconvenient hotel stay for a group

    rating16 Mar 2026

Stayed here for a volleyball tournament at the convention center. Do not recommend at all if you are staying with kids or are here for sports and need typical hotel amenities like snack options, coffee, pool, microwave, quick breakfast etc... Everything about this hotel was inconvenient. It was also dark and strange and the staff was not friendly. It was not Westin standards at all. For every area that was inconvenient - they will tell you it's available for a short walk or nearby. But that wasn't the case. The amenities listed on their site were not accurate at all. - no coffee or hotel mart of any sort anywhere around. They will tell you sbux is close - it wasn't open almost the entire weekend we were there and the couple hours it was open the line was horrendous. - no food on site or breakfast options. Their site claims they have this because there is a fancy restaurant next door you can go to. It's bougie, high priced sit down bar with upscale eats. Cool but not kid friendly and we weren't allowed in with our volleyball sweats on. Haha Totally get that - but don't advertise breakfast on site for your hotel when there isn't a single option. - metal lined pool and hot tub = what even is this? Very creepy - girls wouldn't go in it.- We were assured ahead of time due to the tournament that the skywalk would be open 6a-10p and it wasn't. The hours were inconvenient and changed daily. We ended up having to uber to the convention center daily which is expensive and inconvenient. While the skywalk isn't the Westin's problem - they should not have advertised and assured our group ease of staying there and getting to the convention center through indoor walking in the skywalk. Also nothing along the skywalk was open. This overall wasn't a typical Westin experience. There were no conveniences or options for even the smallest items like getting a cup of coffee. What hotel lobby doesn't have coffee? It was such a pain to stay here with a group and we kept having to leave and uber to find what we needed.

We had a wonderful stay at the Westin. There was some confusion on the room I had booked and Natasha bent over backwards to make things right. She went above and beyond to make our stay great.

In desperate need of an overhaul.

Sadly, this does not meet Westin standards. It's clearly in need of a renovation. Besides the rooms being subpar, it also doesn't have the typical amenities like a small sundries/snack shop. Even the little things like a bottle of water for BOTH guests. Some of the blinds (one in the bathroom for privacy) didn't work. Some of the curtain rods were impossible for me to operate. No outlet on one side of the king bed. I think we had an accessible suite. The bathroom was gigantic, much larger than is even necessary for wheelchair accessibility, but not a zero clearance shower entry. With all that space only a single sink. The rooms was clean and quiet. But I don't think it was worth what we paid for it.Finding the entrance and getting into the building and to the front desk was overly complicated. We missed the entrance and had to drive around the block. There was valet. We had to drag our bags through the restaurant to get to the desk. The desk couldn't tell us if the skyway was open (it was not). So, back to our room to get our coats. The building is a beautiful, historic, art deco style building. I hope Marriott does a proper job to bring it up to the standards this gem derserves. We weren't able to eat at the restaurant named Stock & Bond, but it is stunning. It has soaring ceilings with wood paneling and gorgeous deco touches. I would have loved to sit and take it all in. The check in desk people were not terribly helpful and even a bit rude. But, the gentleman at the valet stand was very friendly and helpful. I wish I would have gotten is name to acknowledge him here. The desk people also didn't know the valet doesn't use tickets, but text instead. We travel and stay at a lot of Marriott properties and this one doesn't meet the Westin level we expect.

    Fails the Brand

    rating09 Aug 2025

From an extremely poorly marked arrival area that had me driving around the block twice, no valet outside when I finally did find the right entrance that has you shlepping thru the restaurant, to two replacement coffee makers (never bothered for a third) and a room that’s seen better days, the only thing that is “on brand” is their signature white tea scent.Beautiful building with ton of charm but needs total Reno. It’s a disappointment to someone who has been loyal since the Starwood days.

AVOID THIS PLACE. SUPER 8 IS BETTER

    rating17 Jul 2025

This place is a joke. It is a literal maze to enter the lobby. So much fun carrying luggage up and down stairs. Finding your room could not be more inconvenient. Parking is in a dark, dangerous lot. The furniture in this room looks like they picked it up from the side of the street. Book elsewhere. This place is awful.
