Beautiful Maui spacious condos on the beach and expansive pools and hot tubs

Aloha! The Honua Kai were all spacious condos or Villas and comfortable. Our family had a Two bedroom spacious condo with walkout porch and open air doors. The pool area was very clean and different areas to sit out, swim, and enjoy the 5 hot tubs. The condo is about 45 mins from the airport so car rental is needed and helpful for other activities. Experience with all members of the Outrigger online and in-person staff were excellent. Every member with interacted with went above and beyond to be helpful. This was my second stay in the Konea tower. Both visits were exceptional - great location, atmosphere, and a view that can't be beat! Our first room, ocean view was at the back of the courtyard. It was a courtyard view with ocean in the background. Right before bed cockroaches started running around. They knew about it because they had traps set. So they moved us to another room over an hour and a half later. This ocean view room had no ocean view at all. Misleading listing and undisclosed mandatory fees

Be aware this is essentially a condo-style property, not a standard hotel experience. We were required to pay $500 mandatory cleaning and damage fees at check-in that were not disclosed during booking. Nice facilities, but transparency and consistency are lacking.
