    Price inconsistent with service

    rating10 Apr 2026

Currently staying with my wife at the resort, paying $900 per night. Overcrowded and understaffed is an understatement. The resort offers day passes to non-guests from other resorts, and as such there a no chairs to sit anywhere if you’re not to the pool before 10am. I was told I could only have 2 towels for my wife and I because they were running out, and I had to wait in line for 15 mins just to get these towels. There is only 1 bartender staffed in the cave bar with more 20-30 people waiting to be served at a given time. The one adult pool has no bar walk up window and wait staff only come by close to once an hour. A pB&j for kids is $18 just to give you pricing context - it’s absurd, when the service doesn’t match prices. Rooms are cleaned daily, but no turn down in the evening. For the price of the stay, I can’t repeat enough how shocked I am at the lack of service here. Very disappointing. This resort is clearly about profit over reputation. I would not recommend a stay here. If you want to check out the pool just do the day pass, but I wouldn’t stay here du

a 40th wife bday blast! and it delivered!

    rating07 Apr 2026

I booked this resort for my wife's 40th birthday and I couldnt have scripted the location, the pools, spa, the beach, the food and the surreal sunset in the beach. Surprisingly this was a Costco package and it over exceeded my expectations with quality and the cost of the trip (airfare, car rental, resort (Napua Experience). This was a vacation to remember for life! We are still elated and talking about the amazing time we had together. Highly recommend getting the Napua Experience (breakfast, snacks included; your own concierge (Malia was PHENOMENAL), 2 passes to the spa pools/sauna). Someone please give Malia a retention bonus! Her customer service/attention/value was better than any AI generated concierge. General Manager, General Manager at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, responded to this review Aloha,Mahalo for choosing to celebrate such a special milestone with us and for sharing your experience. It’s incredibly meaningful to know your time at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort felt seamlessly curated, from our oceanfront setting along Wailea Beach to the moments spent enjoying our pools, spa, and evenings by the shoreline. Hearing that your Napua Experience added an extra layer of ease and personalization, especially through Malia’s attentive care, truly reflects the level of thoughtful service we strive to provide. Your kind recognition of her will certainly be shared, as creating those once-in-a-lifetime memories is at the heart of what we do. We look forward to welcoming you both back to our tropical oceanfront retreat for another unforgettable stay.Mahalo, JP Oliver, Area Managing Director

    What an experience!

    rating07 Apr 2026

The Waldorf Astoria in Maui was incredible. The staff and the level of service was first class all the way. Going to Hawaii was a bucket list item for me. Simply put, this was one of the best trips we have ever taken. Malia was our concierge and she made our stay absolutely perfect. My girlfriend and I got engaged during our stay, and Malia helped with every single detail - from location recommendations to propose, to arranging a photographer to capture the moment, to getting us the best table for dinner with a personalized dessert , and even balloons in our room that were heart shaped or spelled out LOVE. Malia is so thoughtful - she thought of everything! As a result, the trip was absolutely unforgettable! The Waldorf has my highest recommendation. General Manager, General Manager at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, responded to this review Aloha Andy,It is truly special to hear how meaningful this experience was for you. From the moment you arrived, it sounds like everything came together in such a memorable way, and occasions like this deserve nothing less. Malia’s care and attention to every detail, from the proposal setting to the thoughtful touches throughout your stay, clearly made a lasting impact. Congratulations on your engagement, and thank you for sharing such a heartfelt story. We are honored to have been part of such a significant chapter and would be delighted to welcome you back for many more celebrations ahead!Mahalo,JP Oliver,Area Managing Director

Worst place we have been to in the past 10 yrs

    rating06 Apr 2026

Dont waste your time, money, or energy at this resort. The place is ran down. The staff is just completely unprofessional and untrained about hospitality. Will never return and we have been to Maui more than 7x in the past 5 yrs. We even stayed here for a month and have never encountered this level of incompetence and rudeness. General Manager, General Manager at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, responded to this review Mahalo for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly disappointed to hear that your recent stay fell so far short of expectations, particularly after your many visits to Maui and your extended time with us. That is not the level of service or care we strive to provide at our oceanfront retreat on Wailea Beach. Your comments regarding the condition of the resort and the interactions with our team are taken very seriously and have been shared with our leadership for thoughtful review. Providing attentive, polished service that reflects the spirit of aloha and the refined experience of a premier luxury beachfront destination is something we deeply value. As part of our multifaceted revitalization, we have worked to preserve our resort’s classic charm and unique character while introducing a fresh, modern interpretation of Hawaiʻi. We regret that your experience did not reflect these efforts or the relaxed elegance we aim to deliver. We would welcome the opportunity to curate a future stay that better reflects the level of service, care, and attention to detail we are known for.Mahalo, JP Oliver, Area Managing Director

Awful servce. Run to Four Seasons or any other place

    rating06 Apr 2026

Ok where do I even begin on how terrible the service is at this place? We are well traveled and even spent 11 nights at Atlantis last year...for the slides of course with our kids. We have only been here for 1 day out of 6, and the rudeness is intolerable. We just came from Kaanapali for a weeks stay and people were so welcoming/helpful. The place is pretty ran down. For the price, we are switching next door to Four Seasons. Not worth your money nor tjme. Actually, awful all around. Such a disappointment. We had high hopes. General Manager, General Manager at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, responded to this review Aloha Rose,We are disappointed to hear that your recent experience did not reflect the level of service and care we strive to provide, and we understand how frustrating this must have been, especially at the start of what should have been a memorable stay. Your feedback has been shared with our leadership team for review. Our intention is always to create an environment of relaxed elegance, where every detail is curated to deliver comfort, refinement, and genuine hospitality. Mahalo for taking the time to share your perspective. Should your travels bring you back, we would welcome the opportunity to curate a far more seamless and elevated experience.Mahalo,JP Oliver,Area Managing Director
