Kaha Lani unit 110 is a hidden gem!

    rating21 Feb 2026

We just returned from a week-long stay at Kauai Kaha Lani unit 110, and it was absolutely magical. The condo is a hidden gem—ground-floor convenience with a private patio that opens right onto the pool. We woke up to the sound of waves and enjoyed morning breakfast on the lanai, just steps from the shore. The king bed was super comfortable, it had newer furnishings throughout and the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. We noticed all the artwork on the walls were places you could see on the island, such a nice touch. They provided all the beach gear needed, we didn’t rent a thing! The location is perfect—quiet, yet close to beautiful beaches and lush walking trails. We walked the path out front to Lydgate beach for swimming. After we went to Mamahune’s for a drink and lite meal. We loved the location, it was an easy drive to either shore, super close to all the shopping for our groceries and many restaurants nearby. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay—this place will forever be a highlight of our Kauaʻi trip! We will definitely rent the same unit next year!

A relaxing, scenic spot on Wailua cost with beautiful beach

    rating06 Dec 2025

The oceanfront 2 BR unit we had was well equipped for cooking and relaxing, and its view directly of the waves across a lush grassy lawn was truly magnificent. We enjoyed this quiet, laid-back condo complex, and although it does not have a/c, the ceiling fans do help to make it comfortable, especially at this time of year (Nov). The long sandy beach as well as paved path alongside the beach for miles in both directions make strolling a pleasure. The only negative we can mention is the "hidden" high cleaning fee which we thought was quite unreasonable for our short 2 day stay.

Could be really nice with better management and attention to maintenance in and cleaning in some units.

    rating26 Jan 2025

We stayed in two of Kaha Lani's one bedroom units over a two week period, units 221 and 127. Our original unit, 221, was very nice, second floor with beautiful ocean view. We didn't feel the need for A/C as the ocean breezes through the louvered windows and fans were plenty adequate. The unit was a bit on the small side, but comfortable, well equipped and fine for us. The issue we had was with repair and repainting work going on on the building exterior. It was noisy with equipment right outside the balcony, and intrusive with contractors showing up on the balcony multiple times unanounced to work on the railings. We were not informed about any of this ahead of time. The unit 221 property manager we rented through, Garden Island Properties, said that they were not informed. Eventually they gave us a discount in the form of a 10% refund and extra cleaning fee. Castle Kaha Lani the overall property manager was not helpful.A few days before we were due to leave they informed us that they were going to do replacement work on our balcony. We decided we'd had enough and to relocate. We rented #127 for the last few days (through Castle Properties). We had to take what we could get at this point. Unit #127 is an ocean front ground floor unit with ocean view. On the outside and in photographs it looked nice. It was quieter and being an end floor unit was quite private. Inside the unit was generally clean on the surface, but broken items, rust and deterioration detracted from the experience. The dishwasher door balance spring was broken, and if not careful the heavy door would drop down which could have cause a foot or leg injury. There was flaking paint and detiorating moulding in places and rust around electrical outlets and switches. The bathroom medicine cabinet was old, broken and without a door, and there was built up dust in areas that the cleaner apparently never got to.

    Bait and Switch 100%

    rating29 Nov 2024

This "resort" is absolutely bait and switch and I'd go as far as to call it a scam. Don't be fooled by their pictures!Pros:1) great viewCons (unordered):1) No AC (air conditioning). So you have to keep the windows open 2) loud rooster sounds as early as 2-3am which is made louder since you have to keep windows open not to get hot 3) everything felt old, moldy, or rusty. Things felt like they'd fall apart if I grabbed them. Everything outside the unit was seemingly "painted" at random, and by that it's like someone closed their eyes and threw paint around. Not sure why the stairs had random white streaks or the walls had random discolored blotches. The fan that was available to use looked disgusting, the hair dryer was rusted and potentially moldy. Screen doors had difficulty opening. Lock on door was rusty and gross. 4) not many ceiling lights so rooms felt a bit dark and depressing. 5) bed was hard and extremely uncomfortable. 6) dimly lit resort. Doesn't feel safe to walk around at night. Stray cats are fine, but pigs and random people shambling around the parking lot, especially with how dark it is, made us not want to walk around. 7)) nothing in walking distance except for the ocean, which is not even swimmable due to currents. 8) rude staff. We tried to check out early and get a refund for unused days, but they rudely said manager wasn't there so they couldn't do anything. We asked for a less awful room and without even looking they said nothing was available. We asked for replacement beach towels, which we were told we could do, and when I said I wanted 4 (when they asked the number), the response was "aren't there only 2 of you?" In a clearly annoyed tone.We talked to a few others at this resort and they had similar complaints. We were on our honeymoon and just wanted to enjoy Hawaii and got a miserable resort experience. Stay away at all costs, book anywhere else, you can get so much bang for your buck. I've added several pictures/videos to this review to illustrate my point

Nature at its best. Can be annoying.

    rating06 Oct 2024

Location. Location. Location. #309 Here in Oct. Full balcony ocean front. Just across pool. Well appointed. Needed nothing. Had beach chairs, boogey board for beach. Bring ear plugs and expect to be awaken during night from stupid (other than sunrise) roosters crowing. Though we appre iated being awake at sunrise to watch magnificence appear. Magical. Kauai is nature. Nature is 24hrs. Get away from human time and enjoy. Take a nap. No AC. Good tradewinds.
