About Aston Islander on the Beach

location

This unique, Hawaiian hotel is a first-class, plantation-style resort located directly beside the sea amidst the coconut plantations on the east coast of Kauai. The coconut plantation marketplace offers 60 specialised shops as well as restaurants and lies just a few paces from the hotel. The hotel is centrally situated close to many of the island’s sights and leisure options, which include the Wailua Falls, the Fern Grotto, Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali coast. Lihue airport is approx 14 km away.

Guests have a choice of 96 rooms located in a 3-storey main building and 8 auxiliary buildings. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. The resort provides a baggage storage service, a cash machine, a TV room, a coin-operated laundry, a smoke alarm and a smoking area. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park.

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony or terrace is among the standard features in the rooms. The rooms have a queen-size bed and a sofa bed. Children's beds can be provided at no extra charge upon request. A safe and a desk are also available. Additional features include a mini fridge, a microwave and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, a DVD player, an alarm clock and WiFi (for a fee) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. As a special feature, bathrooms are also stocked with cosmetic products and a selection of towels. The complex has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool area. A hot tub invites guests to soothe their muscles, and a poolside snack bar will take care of any hungry bellies. Comfortable sun loungers are available on the terrace. For guests who wish to keep active, crazy golf, fishing and horse riding are available. Water sports available at the resort include windsurfing, canoeing, snorkelling and diving.

They have beautiful property next to the ocean and bike/walking path. Great location close to shops and restaurants. I had a nice ocean view and the room was clean but could use some updating and is a little small for the 1 bedroom. The beach is a good place to swim but there is a nice beach close by. Excellent location especially with the ocean in the front and Coconut Marketplace in the back of the resort that helps us to shop around and buy food with many convenient stores. Nice property ruined by cockroaches

The property itself is actually very nice. The location is great, the grounds are beautiful, and it looks like it could be a really enjoyable place to stay. Unfortunately, the rooms are completely overrun with cockroaches. We saw multiple roaches crawling around the room and bathroom during our stay. It completely ruined the experience. We stayed a couple of nights in February at the end of a longer trip. Overall we were pleased with the property. Pros: Good location - on the beach, with shops, restaurants, etc. all walking distance. Pool and hot tub area was very nice, and the bar area was fun and lively in the afternoons.
