The hotel is conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge in the heart of the Grand Canyon Village Historic District. The lodge is central to the Grand Canyon's Native American handicraft shops.

The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services and facilities include a safe, a cash machine, room service, a laundry service, a conference room, a business centre and a smoking area. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The holiday village has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Parking facilities available to guests include a garage (no extra charge) and a car park (no extra charge). Services include a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service gives guests the opportunity to explore the surrounding area independently.

Only stayed one night but would not have wanted to stay any more. Room was OK and quiet and clean. Location was good for Canyon de Chelly which we wanted to visit. The hotel is a little away from the town so we ate at the cafeteria - not good. Like a canteen - queuing and mediocre food. Decided not to have breakfast there so drove into town and went to Denny's. This is home for me on the Navajo Nation and we have been staying at the Thunderbird lodge for years. It is a beautiful campus with well kept rooms and there is a restaurant onsite that serves traditional Navajo foods like blue corn pancakes and Navajo tacos. It also has a trading post store with local Navajo jewelry. You can also book tours to travel down Canyon de Chelly.
