A Gem!

We were greeted warmly by a gentleman in a Cowboy hat at the front door. He later started a fire in the large fireplace and told stories about the hotel and guests. Our double queen bedroom was spacious and beautifully decorated in a Southwest motif. The bathroom was comfortable but small and I loved the shower curtain and black and white tile. It was built like as many hotels were in the day but upgraded with all new hardware and porcelain. We headed to the bar for great margaritas and tortilla chips with guacamole, queso and salsa! Friendly bartender. We moved to the dining room for dinner. Menu is the same in both places. The burgers were charbroiled and with names of famous actors. I had the WC Field (1/2 pound burger) with cheese and green chili and side salad. My omelette at breakfast was terrific and covered in cheese and Christmas chili. We can’t wait to return to this gem. The two floor lobby is stunning beautiful with two staircases any bride would love to walk down. It is filled with memorabilia from old movies and actors. The room was spacious I love I could open the window and bring fresh air in the room . I feel very secure with the security in the parking . Love the decor and historic. Hotel had history and character but our room was very small, bathroom was tiny and AC didn’t work. Also, hotel was advertised as pet friendly and there was no area designated for pets. Charm of yesterday lives on!

I first stayed here in 2005, and I can definitely say this place still has the “charm of yesterday” - it hasn’t changed a bit! I loved the staff we interacted with. Our room was really nice, comfy and clean. My only complaint is that the bathroom was very small!
