  If you’re really interested about our stay here, it isYou didn’t tell us about the power outage that occurred all day on Tuesday March 10Because our campsite was just over the fence of the gas station their diesel generator kicked on at 8 AM and ran continuously that same day The following day, March 11, two semi trucks, full of materials was unloaded next to our campsite starting promptly at 7:30 AMOne of the main features of going out away from the city is for peace and quiet, this place failed in every aspectI can tell you that I’ve worked construction jobs all my life and the vibe of feeling like I’m on a job site again it’s not what I was looking forBy the way, because of the long walk to the oasis restrooms, we wound up using the furnace creek campground restroomsConsequently, we left a day early just to be out of that hellI will not be coming back

  We would have given this place 5 stars if what is advertised was true. There is no WIFI at the campground, we asked an employee who confirmed that the campground does not offer WIFI (although it says they do online). The only area WIFI works is at common areas such as the pool and main office - which you can either drive or take a long walk to. All amenities listed, other than the disgusting restrooms, are a long walk or drive. We didn’t mind driving 5 minutes to access this but wish it was stated online. Online states there are washer and dryer facilities - an employee said they got rid of them a couple years ago. There are showers, but they are a long walk away at the pool, and all “complementary” soaps in the showers were broken and empty. The complementary towels ran out frequently during the afternoon. The campground bathroom is hidden behind bushes, and to access them you have to walk through other campsites. It is gender shared with 3 stalls, and has many holes in the floor and is completely disgusting and dirty. The door does NOT lock. I would not feel safe allowing my child to use the bathroom alone here. During the day we used the golf course bathrooms (you’re not supposed to), which are right next to the campground bathroom. The golf course bathrooms were beautiful, clean, and private. It’s very concerning that they neglect the campground bathrooms that are 5 steps from the golf course bathrooms. There is a campground nearby (different owners) with decent bathrooms and a large dishwashing station, but it’s a 5-10 minute walk from this campground. We used this as well. Overall, our stay was fine, we enjoyed the pool and games. However, we do not appreciate false advertisement, as we rely on certain amenities since we live on the road and have little access to them.

  Hard to find, but great location and amenities

  The benefits of Fiddlers campground are its a great location. It’s easy walking distance to the visitor center, its park Ranger led programs, restaurants, museum, ice cream parlor, gift shop, general store, and the pool. This pool is fantastic as it’s fed by a natural hot spring and stays about 87 degrees year round. Campground Difficulties are numerous. First, it is very hard to find as there is no sign on the road ( rt 190) to tell you where it is. You must look for the sign for the golf course and turn there to access the campground which is next to the golf course and behind the gas station. Then, after you make the turn for the golf course, the fiddlers campground sign ( there is only 1 sign) will appear. It’s very small and not lit at night. Second, although there is no sign indicating where you check in for your site, we learned from asking around , that check-in for the campground is the same place as check in for the Furnace Creek Ranch hotel although no sign will tell you this. Beware, it is VERY difficult to park a large rig in front of the Furnace Creek Ranch hotel’s guest service building where you check in. So, I would recommend parking on a wide strip of road shoulder between the gas station and the guest service building for Furnace Creek Ranch. If that doesn’t work, make the turn for the golf course and park in the gas station. Both of these options will require you to walk to the guest service building to check in. It’s not a far walk. But, trying to drive a rig to the building can cause issues as roads there are narrow. The sites are all dry meaning no electricity, water or sewer , gravel, level, are clearly marked, and the staff are friendly when they come by once a day to verify site occupancy. Some , but not all sites, have a picnic table. We saw people “ borrowing “ tables from other sites and then returned them on their check out day. There is a common fire pit in the center of the campground for fires. Individual sites do not have fire pits. Dumpsters are handy. There are no shade structures. There is no cell coverage in the area making WiFi your only choice. However, the campground doesn’t have WiFi, but WiFi can be accessed at the visitor center or anywhere on the Furnace Creek Ranch buildings, restaurants, etc. The best camp sites back up to the trees separating the campground from the golf course and provide a nice wind break and some shade. Because of its location and access to the pool, I would stay here again, especially now that I know how to find it and check in.

  A legal place to camp in Death Valley but little else.

  This campground is basically a big gravel parking lot with sites that are very close together. It was hard to locate things like water or bathrooms. The only thing this campground had going for it was that one had access to the pool by staying here.

  Hands down amazing for the value. The campground is in the Ranch area of the Oasis. The grounds of the Ranch are beautiful. The actual campground is a basic parking lot with picnic tables. Not perfect for tents. There is a bathroom nearby, but we used a different one in the ice cream parlor building, which is just a short walk away. We charged our Tesla model 3 overnight in the main parking lot. The adapters that come with a rental Tesla worked well. Otherwise the closest supercharger is in Beatty about 1 hour away. The pool also has showers. Pool and internet service are included in the camping fee. You can also just buy the shower pass for $14 per day (unsure of when the pass is valid - only the same day or until 11 AM the next day). The pool service building is a little outdated, but the grounds are beautiful. There were communal campfires with chairs around in late evenings not far from the pool. I understand the pass works for both the Ranch and the Inn areas (a short drive away from each other) but we only tried the one at the Ranch. It did not have a hot tub. The pool was open 9am to 11PM, perfect at the hottest time of the day or in the evening after hiking. If fiddler's is not available, you can get a camping spot in any nearby campgrounds run by the park service and still get a pool pass here. The Oasis (otherwise referred to as the Furnace Creek area) is centrally located between the southern and northern areas of the park. The visitor center is nearby.
