No hot water, noisy, rude manager who would not manage other bad guests

Terrible stay at Hampton Inn—constant nightly noise from large groups, no sleep, rude and unhelpful management, plus no water one night and no hot water another. Completely unacceptable experience. Management was unkind when I complained. Micki Heineken, Owner at Hampton Inn & Suites Alexandria Old Town Area South, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you encountered during your stay. Unfortunately, there was an unexpected emergency water-main break on Fort Hunt Road, directly beside the hotel. Fairfax Water had to shut off the water without notice. I’m also very sorry for the noise disturbances you experienced. We do our best to address guest concerns promptly, especially when it impacts rest and comfort, and I apologize that this issue persisted during your visit.

My review is specifically for the staff, who are receiving 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. We stayed 4/6/26 - 4/10/26.The front desk staff was readily available to help problem-solve any issues that came up. And seeing how we were traveling with 53 8th-graders, issues came up. A special shout-out to Front Office Manager Shameka Nicole Winters. She was everything our chaperones and students needed. She was kind, always smiling, and asking what she or her staff could do to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. She also helped to accommodate some extreme situations with her candor and professionalism. The other front desk staff were just as helpful and supportive, as we had some challenging situations arise within our group.The maintenance man who had to come deal with multiple clogged toilets due to the low/weak water pressure in the toilets was a champ. Also, we had a room with a leaking sink that created a pool of flooding water not only in the bathroom but also in the hotel room and in the hallway. He was always there with his tools and his can-do attitude and handled everything with professionalism and grace. This Hampton Inn is one of the nicest ones I have ever stayed in. I travel for my living and I have no control over what hotel my company will book me into. When I see Hampton Inn, I cringe, because you never know which end of the spectrum this particular Hampton falls.This hotel is a treat. The Hampton Inn & Suites Alexandria South checks all the boxes and more.The Staff is very professional, polite and efficient. That you expect. The Staff here really goes above and beyond to make sure they are providing the best possible outcome that they can.The Breakfast is the brand standard, but again, the Staff goes all out to make it more than it has to be.I cannot say that I have ever noticed a Hampton decor or remember it. The one goes the extra mile.I would stay here again anytime. It was a pleasure.
