    Overall a very good stay

    rating04 Apr 2026

I've wanted to stay at this hotel for a long time so was thrilled when I finally got the chance. The staff on reception were outstandingly friendly and helpful when we arrived. The room was nice, but of a basic standard. We struggled to locate many plug sockets for charging phones and camera's but that could have been our fault for not looking hard enough. The towel rail in the bathroom was very hot - but there is a warning above it, just be aware of it.The communal areas are very classy and delightful.Breakfast was fine but there wasn't really a welcome and explanation of where and what was available to us, we were just shown to a table (with a very good view of the river).Overall - we had a good stay, in a very nice hotel - that was made more pleasant by the very friendly reception staff.

    Lovely Hotel

    rating21 Mar 2026

We arrived early and were able to check straight in , very impressed with our spacious room and bathroom. Comfy bed and nice linens , towels and robes too. Everything you needed was there. The hotel is in a perfect location on the banks of the Thames and right next to Windsor Castle and the shops. Parking was 5 minutes away in an area of the station car park reserved for the hotel guests at a cost of £15. Per day and payable at check in. You need to reserve ahead of your stay though and print out the parking permit to put inside the car. The staff were all friendly and helpful and will carry your bags to your room if required. There are quite a few stairs so if you’re on the third floor that is a big help.We enjoyed a lovely meal in the Brasserie and again service very good. Breakfast was ok nothing special but perfectly adequate I just think after a wonderful meal the night before we just expected something more. The booking of parking and meals through the website was a bit of a faff and you do need to check your bill as we were charged twice for parking and had to remind the reception to deduct the secret escapes meal allowance from our bill. They don’t print your bill out they say they email it to you but we are still waiting. Probably just teething problems with their new systems. We would definitely recommend the hotel and stay again in the future.

    Charming Hotel

    rating11 Mar 2026

Charming historic hotel! Very helpful staff! Our room overlooked the Thames and canal boats. Good breakfast. Lesley Denyer, Guest Services / Front Office at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel, responded to this review Dear Andiamo2010Thank you for taking the time to review the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel, following your recent stay.We are thrilled that it was a mainly positive experience and that you have described us as a charming, historical hotel.Accommodation at the Wren is spilt across five buildings, and therefore not all of our rooms can or do have views of the river Thames. We ae delighted that your room had a fabulous view and that you also enjoyed seeing the lovely boats.Thank you for your kind comments regarding the friendly, helpful staff. We are also pleased you loved our good, buffet breakfast. We want all of our guests to have a positive experience and to wish to return, so we hope you will consider visiting us again, on a future trip to Windsor.Kind regardsLesley DenyerCustomer Service Manager

At last a company that gives good value and excellent service.

Hotel location is superb, being on the Thames and a short walk to the High Street and Windsor Castle.Room fittings were all of high quality. Staff were always helpful and smiling.Menu choice is a bit disappointing although charges are very fair. The view in the restaurant over the Thames was very nice, Lesley Denyer, Guest Services / Front Office at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel, responded to this review Dear 630johniThank you for taking the time to review the Sir Christopher Wren and for awarding us your top score. We are delighted that you feel we offered good value for money , provided excellent service and that the team were always helpful and smiling. As you know, we are the only hotel in Windsor on the River Thames, overlooking Eton Bridge, whilst also being in the shadow of Windsor Castle, and a few minutes walk away from the theatre and town centre. We are thrilled that we provided clean, comfortable, well appointed accommodation and that you loved the views from the riverside Brasserie. We hope you will consider returning to us again on a future trip to Windsor.Kind regardsLesley DenyerCustomer Service Manager
