  Fabulous Hotel

  We had a one night stay to visit the Van Goff experience, so knew nothing about the Voco. What a fantastic surprise we got, from the initial very friendly and helpful receptionist to the absolute surprise at how lovely the Hotel was especially the room. It was large like the American rooms I was used to many years ago, with two double beds and lots of room. We had one very minor problem with two very bright lights which we couldn't turn off due to faulty switch, this presented no problem as we were immediately offered the room next door, plus a bar voucher, which was very kind but we didn't feel necessary but a lovely gesture.We had a lovely meal in the Kitchen 21 restaurant, which was very good although my Wife thought four saute potatoes was a bit mean and her chicken could have been warmer, my Pie of the week was excellent.A fabulous Hotel and we will definitely be back, when we visit the Winchester area again.   Anniversary celebrations made extra special

  As a family, we have used the hotel before for accommodation and the restaurant but this weekend we held a special family diamond wedding anniversary there. From the moment we arrived the team couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. We had 60 guests in a private area and the buffet was delicious and plentiful. Rachel as the event team leader was brilliant and hard working with a smile and couldn’t do enough to make sure the celebrating couple were happy. Also Gabby on the bar team was great. Well worth using for any special occasion celebration! Thank you all so much!   Underwhelming

  Very underwhelmed. Tiled skirting board in bathroom coated with shaved hair so cleanliness was a concern. Premium bedroom spacious but only has about 3 hangers in cramped cupboard and no drawers so you’ll need to live out of a suitcase. Nowhere to hang a wet coat. In the evening Young woman in restaurant grudgingly said ‘I can let you have that table’ when we asked for a table in a better lit area. Restaurant more than half empty so not sure why we seemed to be such a nuisance, later arrivals didn’t seem to have the same problem. Eventually she came back to take a drink order but then couldn’t be bothered to fill it although she did eventually wander off to the bar to do it and, no, she wasn’t busy. Eventually managed to flag someone else down to order food. Wine is obviously hotel prices but mediocre for the price. No information in room or on app about breakfast times and no one answered the phone when we tried that. Reception and breakfast staff very pleasant and professional. The service you describe is disappointing and not the level of hospitality we expect our team to deliver. Every guest should feel welcome and valued, and I am truly sorry that this was not your experience.
