  We would love to come back in the summer

  We stayed at the Swindon Blunsdon House Hotel, BW Premier Collection, in early March 2026. We loved the place, the amenities, the staff's hospitality, and the location, with its peaceful, beautiful surroundings. We think it was good value for money.I had a memorable massage session with Lisa at Secrets Beauty Salon in The Pavillion. Lisa is not only a highly skilled masseuse but also an attentive listener, open to adapting to my needs and suggestions. I felt acknowledged, well cared for, and deeply satisfied with her assistance.We disliked that there was no toilet brush in our bathroom. Also, they didn't have blankets available to replace the duvets, which were too warm during the night.

  Lack of transparency and the delay in refunding deposit.

  We stayed at this hotel from 13th March 2026. Upon arrival, breakfast was priced at £40 for two adults, which we found unreasonably expensive.Additionally, a £100 deposit was taken for minibar/snack usage, despite there being no snacks or minibar items available in the room at all. Two weeks later, we are still waiting for this deposit to be returned.We received an email confirming that the refund would be processed back to the original payment method, but as of today, no refund has been received.Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience, particularly due to the lack of transparency and the delay in returning our money. I would urge future guests to be cautious and double-check these charges when staying here. Upon check-in, a pre-authorisation of £50 per room per night is placed on your card. This is a standard practice across the hospitality industry and is clearly communicated in both our pre- and post-booking information.This pre-authorisation does not involve funds leaving your account or being received by us. Instead, the amount is temporarily held by your bank to cover any potential incidental expenses during your stay. This works similarly to a “pay at the pump” transaction at a petrol station, where an initial amount may appear higher until the final charge is confirmed.The purpose of this pre-authorisation is to allow guests the convenience of charging services to their room. These services include not only minibar usage, but also a wide range of amenities such as our spa, bar, restaurant, and fitness facilities.At check-out, any charges incurred are deducted from the pre-authorised amount. An automatic electronic instruction is then sent to your bank to release any remaining funds. While we ensure this process is initiated promptly on our end, the timeframe for the release of funds is determined entirely by your bank. On occasion a different payment method at checkout can result in the preauthorisation having to "time out" We recommend contacting them directly if you experience any delays.Regarding breakfast, we offer a comprehensive, all-you-can-eat selection. At £20 per person, we believe this represents strong value within the 4-star market, though we appreciate that preferences may vary.We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.   Beautiful "little" hotel

  We won our stay through McDonald's Monopoly. I know... yes, they are legit, lol. The hotel did not disappoint; it's friendly, warm, and welcoming, nicely decorated, an old-school hotel, but with up-to-date art. We also got upgraded on arrival to the executive suite. The room was lovely, a mini apartment in fact, with a super king bed, bath, shower, plenty of clothes storage, mini fridge, desk and vanity space, and lovely little touches. There was a small area with a kettle, tea, coffee, etc., a sofa, two armchairs, and a TV. The staff, bar one, were lovely and super friendly. The breakfast buffet was included and had so much choice; my only complaint would be that the "fresh" fruit wasn't so fresh. The pool had just opened, so it was a little chilly,27° ,that didn't stop my husband going in, but the sauna and steam room were great, all included in our stay,( when booking direct with the hotel) . Although we won this and may not have chosen somewhere so close to home, we'd definitely go back and definitely recommend it. Plenty to do and see around Swindon.   10/10 superb!

  Just came back from a 2 night stay at the blunsdon with my partner and we had the most incredible time! Staff are all so wonderful and friendly and can’t do enough for you. We had a refurbished room upgrade and it was huge, modern and so comfortable! The spa facilities were included booked directly and they were superb 10/10. We also had massages at secrets which was also 10/10. Breakfast included and was fantastic, offering poached eggs freshly cooked to order as well as all the other buffet essentials. We didn’t eat dinner so can’t comment!   Superb staff

  This hotel should be exceptionally proud of its team. On check in Nadia set the scene with a very warm welcome, and Oliver F is probably the most polite person I have ever met! His considerate service on clearing tables after our conference buffet did not go unnoticed.But the star of the show was Wayne. He was incredibly accommodating when we asked to open external doors in a conference room, showed real empathy when speaking with a colleague about a guest's baby, but more so was just so understanding when, 3+ hours over check out time, I realised I'd not checked out! Feeling an idiot and mortified at my oversight, he instantly reassured me and we even shared a giggle. Management here have done an excellent job recruiting such superstars 🙌Oh, and superbly clean throughout, fabulously comfy beds and enormous bedrooms. (I've dipped the rating to a 4 because the heating and window were both broken in my room, but they were both labelled as being so, so I'm guessing they are shortly to be mended.) Also the replenishment of drinks and cups at mealtimes (when conference attendees streamed out) had to be requested - but the restaurant staff were efficient and extremely hardworking to cope with the numbers. Definitely recommend a stay here!
