    Comfortable stay

    rating05 Apr 2026

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel in the grounds of Stirling University. I noticed there was a shuttle bus to the city, but didn’t use it - for future reference! The hotel room was warm and comfortable enough, had the means for making tea or coffee, but I didn’t notice a hairdryer. What I really want to rave about was the evening meal we had - big portions, fish and chips and Hunter’s chicken; I had the latter and it was so tasty, the chicken really juicy, very enjoyable. I would return to this hotel next time I visit Stirling.

    Frustrating and poor service

    rating03 Mar 2026

Avoid at all costsBooked a double room for single occupancy on hotels.com only to be given a twin room with single beds. I explained that’s not what I paid for and they tried to fob me off despite me showing my booking, receptionist had no real interest in help just kept saying the hotel is full. Asked for the duty manager to contact me while I waited in the room but she didn’t. Went back to reception and ended up demanding they get the duty manager. Who confirmed she knew I was waiting for her…. Again explained I had paid extra for the double room but told the hotel was full and no other rooms available (does that mean they gave my room to someone who paid for the twin?) she agreed they had not supplied the room I had paid for and agreed to refund me but only when hotels.com ask for the refund. I moved to another hotel with the double room and spent an hour on chat with hotels.com trying to get them to answer their phone….. let’s see how long the refund takes.Room 218 is dismal. Worn out and the atmosphere is sad. I had stayed here before and enjoyed it but this was my last time

NOT A PET FRIENDLY HOTEL among other things

    rating03 Mar 2026

Before I get to the non- pet friendly situation ........ Firstly, it was difficult to find. The University has several entrances, something not made clear when booking. Secondly was the non-welcome by the receptionist, seemed we were a hassle that had to be tolerated. Then we were told that the dog would not be allowed into the dining area or the bar, only our room, something else not made clear when booking and if known would have meant this hotel was a no-no. To eat, our options were; go to a pet friendly restaurant or eat in our room. We chose to eat in our room for various reasons. This turned out not to be a good idea as there was no table, and only one chair, so we had to eat from the tray on the bed, which kept rolling away from the wall???? We had to eat breakfast separately, not even close to ideal. The best I can say about the food is that it was a notch above Wetherspoons. The room was clean, but tired looking and the toilet sounded like it was going to fall off the wall when sat upon. To cap it all we were charged £25 extra for the dog???. I can see that the hotel's location means that it probably attracts people for events and business at the University but it is not for the casual pet owning client. We will be making regular trips to Stirling in the future but will definetly not stay in, nor recommend to friends and acquaintances, the Stirling Court hotel.

My room was nice but dining experience was below average.

    rating13 Feb 2026

I stayed the one night whilst on a business trip to Scotland. My room, a Classic Double, was nice and the bed was comfortable, lighting and décor was good and it was clean. The price was good also at £67.50 for the night with breakfast and parking included. The dining was the only real disappointment in as much as breakfast was like eating in a school's examination hall... Lines of tables and little ambience. The buffet breakfast was nice enough but the whole dining experience was below average and in contrast to my nice room.

Great place. Not fancy but clean, warm. Fine location not far from William Wallace Monument and Stirling city centre. Fantastic breakfast.
