With some of the South Coast's major attractions close by, the hotel is the perfect base for exploring Hampshire. A rude receptionist ruined our stay

We booked a 6 night stay at the hotel, and I checked in at around 8pm on 22 Sep, only to be met with a very rude and disrespectful receptionist. My wife and I arrived separately, and she had our 10 month old son with her and he was rude to her as well. We were both made to feel very unwelcome and it was clear that he had a chip on his shoulder and could not care less for the hotel guests. We stayed and attended my pals wedding over the weekend would most certainly come back.The Staff who looked after us really welcoming and happy, they brought us the best lamb we've had in a long time. After reading bad reviews I nearly cancelled out trip but pleased I didn’t On arrival reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We had our dog with us and they made our stay enjoyable. Nice room clean and freshly decorated and new carpet it seemed . Bathroom clean , nice towels and toiletries. Good shower . As a frequent global traveler, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.Breakfast Chaos: Total mismanagement. There were no plates, mugs, cutlery, or food.
