Excellent overnight staycation at Royal Station, lovely beds and room with a view of thestation street. When U go into the hotel then deco is old fashioned but lovely. Enter your room it all stops. Had heating blasting when it's 27 degrees outside, we had to leave to cool down. Lumpy old pillows and a mattress where you could literally see the springs sticking out. Bath was actually rusty and stained. Reminded me of a 1960s bedsit. Beds clean and comfortable in huge room was a positive.However, the bathroom hadn’t been hoovered, the soap dispenser didn’t work, the door stop was hanging off, the bath was chipped, the toilet was stained horribly, the windows had to be propped open on a really hot night and the room as a whole needed some real TLC.Ok, it’s relatively cheap at £108, but there are much betters places to stay. The room was clean, it was an efficient booking process done in person, the bed was comfortable and the facilities was impressive!
