    dreadful hotel

    rating06 Jun 2026

With views from the hotel overlooking a building site, a walk from the station you feel uneasy with, the hotel is a mere 5 minutes walk to something resembling the actual wharf. For your £160 a night (single rate) you get a room with no windows (yes, no window), grey walls and the feeling of a prison cell. Oh, no breakfast of course. You can ask the staff to give it to you as a compliment as you forgot to enter the promo code, but they can't do anything, the systems are locked out to them. The shower gel is rationed at one tiny drop a squirt so it takes 50 pumps to get enough to wash just your face. They have a 'save the planet' lie of not doing anything in your room for 4 days. Oh, and the pinnacle of your stay... Your wardrobe is 3 pegs each with a coat hook. Not enough for one never mind two and of course nowhere to put your socks or underwear, but that's fine as mentioned nobody comes in the room. Shower water seems rationed at a trickle too. Do yourself a favour, go to premier Inn for half the price. Front Desk, Guest Services / Front Office at Point A Hotel London Canary Wharf, responded to this review Dear Neil Walker,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. Our hotel offers a range of room types, including both internal and external rooms. Your reservation was allocated a room with a window, in line with our records and the room category booked and confirmed at the time of reservation. Our reception team is available 24/7, and we encourage you to speak with us at any time so we can assist you immediately during your stay. We also operate a light-touch housekeeping service as part of our sustainability approach. For stays of multiple nights, including four-night stays, the room is fully serviced after the second night, with additional amenities, towels, and toiletries available from reception at any time on request.Regarding breakfast, this can be added at any point during your stay. If you choose to book directly with us in the future, breakfast may also be included depending on the rate selected. We are sorry that you felt the room layout and storage options were limited. As a budget hotel, our rooms are designed to be compact and functional, focusing on essential comforts such as a comfortable bed, en-suite bathroom, TV, and Wi-Fi.We appreciate your feedback and remain available 24/7 should you need any further assistance during your stay.Kind regards,Jennifer

    10/10 would recommend

    rating02 Jun 2026

I was recommended this hotel by a friend, and will recommend it myself to anyone asking me for recs on places to stay in London. The place was clean and well furnished, the bed was comfortable and the lighting was good. I appreciated the AC, because it was already hot outside. I booked a room with windows and a two persons bed, and was happily surprised by the space I got. The personnel working there was very nice. There is an umbrella renting service inside the lobby, which might be terribly useful if you forgot yours. Front Desk, Guest Services / Front Office at Point A Hotel London Canary Wharf, responded to this review Dear Axelle-Rose D,Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing to stay with us.We're delighted to hear that a friend's recommendation brought you to our hotel, and it's especially rewarding to know that you would recommend us to others visiting London. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel, the comfort of your room, the air conditioning, and the spaciousness of your accommodation. We know how important a good night's sleep and a comfortable environment are when exploring the city. We're also thrilled that our team helped make your stay enjoyable. Your kind words about their friendliness will be shared with them, as feedback like yours means a great deal.Thank you as well for highlighting the umbrella rental service, it's certainly a handy option with London's unpredictable weather! We truly appreciate your recommendation and look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to London.Kind regards,Jennifer

Book direct so you can choose a room away from the entrance door

    rating26 May 2026

I stayed here during a London heatwave so my main priority was the AC. This was excellent — individual units in the room which cooled down fast and stayed that way. Size-wise the rooms are compact but not cramped, and offer and good value for money. The Location is handy — about five minutes on foot from the Elizabeth Line, which puts most of London within easy reach.Whilst everything else in the room was really modern, the TV was a bit of a letdown with no streaming or casting support, so you're stuck with free-to-air channels only (some of which had patchy reception). I paid an extra £4 for a window, but didn't really need it apart from the light as it just looked onto a wall.Unfortunately I'd been given a space right next to the lobby entrance, which meant spending the night being jolted awake every time the door banged shut. If you book direct rather than through a third party, you can pick your room in advance. You also get free breakfast thrown in, which would cost £13 normally (and not be worth it!)

Rooms on ground floor right next to noisy front door

    rating20 May 2026

Generally the hotel is fine but in the second (of 2) buildings the first few rooms open directly onto the ground floor entrance hall. The front door is heavy and the catch is loud, as are the guests entering and leaving. This makes it impossible to sleep unless / until the last guest comes in.My advice if they offer you rooms 501 - 503 is to politely refuse and insist on another room.
