  OUTSTANDING AND 100£. VALUE FOR MONEY

  MASSIVE thank you to INNA on reception this is the 3rd time we have stayed at this hotel due to my father-in-law sadly being unwell and had to stay down in southend overnight to give his mum a rest .as soon as we walked into the hotel INNA was sympathetic and really made sure we had a lovely room facing the sea .she is an asset to this company. Her people skills are outstanding and we will definitely be staying here everytime we come to Southend amd have recommend it to many friends. The hotel is very clean .homely and safe to stay.the breakfast and staff were also very friendly and food was delicious.   Great location and decent sized room.

  I was concerned about staying in this hotel due to the poor reviews. yes the hotel is a little dated but the room was big and clean enough. The customer service was decent, the man at the front desk helped with an issue I had on arrival and the ladies who served me for dinner and breakfast were pleasant. The location was great so I walk down to the sea front easily too and my room overlooked the water. I stay away for business and this hotel provided everything I needed for that purpose.   Would have gave them a 1 star rating but the breakfast upgraded my score to a 2

  Far too over priced for is technically a 2 star hotel at best. Ideally this place shouldn’t be charging anymore than £50 a night per room.The rooms are awful, tiny, the double bed is more like a large single and the pillows were like lying on a sack of potatoes. I didn’t sleep a wink all night as the pillows were so bad. I also found a long hair sitting on top of my bathroom towels.   I deliberately waited to see if the pleasant feelings experienced during our Xmas family get-together had ebbed away. Pleased to say, definitely not. Stirred by memories of years gone by, plus a loving ache to change plans and spend time with our Grandson and relatives visiting from overseas, my wife strongly requested that we stay at Southend's Westcliff Hotel for 4 days over Christmas. Telephone conversations with a very helpful Kieran, plus the manager, Arbab Sikander, confirmed my wife's choice of a specific type of room with a sea view. Westcliff-on-Sea's often overlooked for the noisy neighbours of nearby large hotel chains and popular Airbnb's. However, for comfort, convenience and generally a pleasant accommodation experience, Muthu's Westcliff Hotel, ranks highly and ticked all our boxes. On arrival, the afore mentioned Kieran, was equally as pleasant in person, as he had been on the phone. Our room was exactly as requested, spacious, warm (with extra portable heaters), and wonderful views overlooking the bay and seafront. Even our 6 year old grandson chose to sit and have afternoon tea and snacks whilst enjoying the views. Breakfast was to our liking also, with a choice of fruit juices, cereals, and a variety of daily hot choices of eggs, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, tomatoes plus different choices of breads for toasting. Ample. Families' visiting the UK from overseas were also there during our stay. Two large families from Belgium, a Nigerian family plus other guests from various parts of Asia. On three mornings we also exchanged breakfast greetings with a couple of ladies, both seniors, who were regular guests, especially at Christmas. Yes, we also saw the reviews, but rather than judging the opinions of others, decided to pick up the phone, pay our money, and take our choice. Result, enjoyed the experience and planning to return.   Murder Mystery evening

  Booked a Murder Mystery evening at the hotel with friends.Great evening - very entertaining but the surprise of the evening was the three course meal which was fabulous.All homemade - delicious and very hot. Very substantial - would definitely come back just for the food!!The only downside for us was that the room the event was held in was quite cold and didn’t really warm up- but overall a good evening.
