    Rubbish sunday lunch

    rating29 Mar 2026

Sunday lunch what an experience starter medley of whitebait, calamari and tempura prawns all over cooked and cold. Roast beef sent back 3 times neat was cold, inside potatoes cold, beef tough as old boots and in the gravy a mushroom (that wasn't asked for) pudding brulee burnt overall it as terrible, the bottle of sparking water was warmer than the food.

    Lovely beer, poor food.

Lovely pub, great beer, excellent front of house staff. The big downside was the food, I ordered a burger at £18.50 which was burnt, only a teaspoon of coleslaw and a few chips. Restaurant wasn't overly busy either.

    Great Sunday lunch

    rating30 Nov 2025

Fantastic Sunday lunch. The service was also very attentive. I highly recommend eating here. The decor is also very pleasant. The lunch we felt was just like a well cooked home meal, which for a Sunday lunch is just what you want it to taste like.

What a fantastic place to stay!!

    rating11 Nov 2025

My wife and I stayed at the hotel in mid-October. The rooms were very clean, generous and well appointed, but as with many venues, it was the people that made our stay so special and memorable. From Jake behind the bar, running the venue so smoothly and with great humor, to Georgia in the dining room, friendly and engaging and to Tracy in the kitchen, creating delicious local dishes and exceptional roast pork with crackling.Sitting at the bar with the locals, sharing a drink and exchanging stories and laughter was such a highlight.Even as tourists, we were made to feel so welcome by all and it made for a very memorable stay.We highly recommend this venue and will definitely stay there again on our next trip to the UK & Cotswold's
