This is a really tough review to write as I have stayed here several times and loved it. However this time the whole experience felt far from 5 star. I have to say all of the staff were lovely, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room had a strong damp smell in the corner by the wardrobe and was quite dirty - I did take photos of headboard - full of dust , bottom of the wardrobe… This is a really tough review to write as I have stayed here several times and loved it. Beautiful hotel with old world charm. Some excellent members of staff but on occasions we had to wait a long time for service. Two nights running we had 45 minute wait for drinks before dinner.
