This resort is located on the northern headland of the lovely Ao Prao beach, on the west coast of peaceful Koh Samet (Samet Island). The island is renowned for its crystalline white sandy beaches and it lies just a 2-and-a-half hour drive from Bangkok.

52 double rooms are available. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. A variety of shops are available, including a souvenir shop. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, a transfer service, room service (for a fee), an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Air conditioning ensures that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator and a tea/coffee station. A tumble dryer is provided for guests' convenience. The complex offers a wide range of outdoor sports, including tennis, beach volleyball and fishing. For a fee, guests can also enjoy cycling/mountain biking. With snorkelling or, for a fee, water skiing, windsurfing, motorboat rides, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning and diving available, fans of water sports have plenty of options to choose from. Guests can enjoy indoor activities, including aerobics. There is a wellness area with a spa, a sauna and a solarium. Subject to charge: massage treatments. Parents can unwind while the kids can participate in an entertainment programme full of fun activities.

I asked our travel agent for somewhere in Thailand that is quiet and suitable for a few days retreat. That is exactly what it was. The resort is clean, well maintained and constantly serviced by friendly staff. Breakfast was so varied to suit all tastes and Western and Thai cuisines. No-one can honestly go hungry here. We’ve had some really wonderful days at Ao Prao Resort. We chose the place due to location and good food rating, and we were not disappointed. Such a relaxed and comfortable place, great location, super friendly staff and wonderful Thai food. We even tried the cooking class and go back with a trick or two. This is our third stay at Ao Prao resort, this time for five nights between Christmas and New Year as party of a family group of 20.The resort is lovely, the beach is wonderful and quiet and perfect for families (and non families!).
