  Like I said it. in the evening the light in the dining room could be a bit briter. On of my meals was Zürcher geschnetzeltes and during the meal the food got cold. I suggest that you warm up the plates.Otherwise everything was good. Congratulation.

  Definitely recommend - food was EXCELLENT - a few things to know.

  Pros: The beautiful location and access to the stunning, amazing spa; very clean and comfortable room with a good bathroom and shower. MOST SIGNIFICANTLY: the FOOD was great. We ended up eating dinner both nights there and it was the best food we had in our whole two weeks in Switzerland (including Lucerne and Zurich). Not sure why no one reviews or talks about this restaurant, we were a bit worried about where to eat up there since there is really only one other nearby option, but gave the hotel restaurant a whirl and it was so outstanding that we happily went the next night too. Much lighter far than elsewhere with complex and creative flavors. Included breakfast buffet was terrific too, plenty of options (also best one we encountered). I don't think I'd get full board though as I bet you would not be able to choose from the full menu. Prices were VERY reasonable given quality and limited options up there.Also, I bellied up to the bar the first night and the bartender was super friendly and made me my favorite drink upon request (Paper Plane). When I ordered it again the next night, he brought it over personally (which was a journey, see my tale below) to say hi. I appreciated that very much. All the housekeeping and food servers could not have been nicer. Cons: Inconsistent treatment by front desk - like, sometimes they didn't really care one way or another that you were there and doing all right. Also, the dining room setup is pretty odd. There was a huge conference of scientists that took the main dining room over completely and so we were seated all by ourselves in the breakfast area for dinner, directly across from the dark, closed breakfast buffet. Kind of like eating at a Denny's. Alone. The next night we asked to not be seated there (twice, once when we made the resy at the front desk and once when they started to seat us at the same table in the empty space again) and they moved us to a more "restaurant-like" table deeper back inside the space, and that was fine. The hotel itself is sort of brutalist architecture and thus not very warm and cozy feeling, but I'd still recommend it as it's comfortable, clean etc if you want to avail yourself of the beautiful mountain (we took a spectacular day hike to the top and back one day), the unbelievable spa, the amazing food and the nice bartender!

  A very exceptional stay and experience - convenient location in terms of travel in the region

  The moment we entered the Hotel, we were made to feel at home by the very welcoming, empathetic and caring Ms. Daria at the reception - she genuinely was invested in ensuring we had a seamless experience. The room had a very scenic view of the Alps and the overall stay was very comfortable. The 4-course dinner at the restaurant was a delight - delicious food (refined, yet full of flavour), amazing service and the staff, including Mr. Daniel, was very welcoming, kind and helpful.The location of the hotel is ideal in terms of experiencing the scenic beauty of the region and in terms of ease of travel connectivity with the train station and cable car station being just a couple of minutes walk away from the Hotel's main building. This makes the travel to the summit / Rigi Kulm and down to Weggis and Vitznau (further to Lucerne) a very easy and convenient travel.If you are planning for a stay at Mt. Rigi, I would highly recommend Hotel Rigi Kaltbad.

  My second wonderful stay

  This was my second stay and I enjoyed it very much. The reception was helpful, the room, pleasant with a fabulous view, quiet, very comfortable bed, good shower.The spa was very good , excellent steam bath, sauna ( have to be nude for this one), pool was very big although the outside part closed one day ( for cleaning?).Unfortunately there is no fitness room. I would have appreciated it if only for hotel guests as I imagine the daily visitors could be quite numerous.The restaurant was in general good. Some items missing at breakfast like, smoked salmon, sweet cakes, made to order eggs. We were disappointed with the service one evening though.This destination is excellent and I would strongly recommend spending some days here.

  Hotel is fine and comfortable but service is one of the worst

  The hotel is well situated and comfortable. Big advantage is the spa you have access as hotel guest.The service for the restaurant is the biggest issue. That’s a pity as the food was good.We had an early reservation for Saturday night dinner for 4. When we arrived they assigned us our table, nearby a big table with young kids and noisy. We asked if we can change to the next table (same view nearby the window, same room just one table away from the noisy table). No way, the table we were looking at was reserved by THE director and the waiter could not decide for the swap. We asked to have a table in the other room but again not possible as they were fully booked. Seeing our scepticism, he told us to wait for the director who was one table away with other customers. We had to wait for 10 minutes before THE director agreed to come to see us and he had more urgent topics to deal with rather than attending customers requests. Another explanation, again strict refusal because the customer from the day before wanted the same table.Remember same table for 4 just parallel to the one assigned to us in the same room with the same view. We started to explain how unbelievable the situation was but we faced the inflexibility from THE director. He explained me with several “my friend, …my friend,” that the table was assigned for customers who were staying 3 nights… I guess because we were staying only 2 nights we, as customers, did not have any right for simple care and attention. As we did not understand the logic he told us that if we were not happy we could always have dinner elsewhere!!!! Sic !!!!We finally had a table in the other room, the restaurant was far to be full as we stayed until 10:00 pm despite what we were told earlier.What a disappointment as the food was good but the service quality, customer care and attention to customer was one of the worst I have ever seen.We did not felt welcome, it is true that we were not German speaker and I wondered if being able to explain in German would have helped…I waited 48 hours to write this review as I did not want to write anything under anger. Again, it is true that they do not need customer as the Spa and the location gave them a premium commercial position but arrogance and lack of customer care is something that shall be banned from any hotel and restaurant.
