I booked and paid for a private room via Agoda, but on arrival was only given a bed in a 4-bed dormitory.The hostel confirmed in writing that Agoda (via Expedia) transmitted the wrong booking. Reception staff were dismissive and refused to take responsibility, offering no solution on site.Agoda delayed handling my complaint for over a week, then closed the case in their app without explanation. Many things went weird during our stay. Let’s start from the check-in. As soon as we arrived we were requested to pay our booking. We had the exact booking.com reservation rate money with us but only in Euro cash which was not accepted by the hotel. Therefore the receptionist made up an “equivalence” price in Switzerland money which in fact was higher than what we were supposed to pay. But ok. Sec… Many things went weird during our stay. The hotel is very clean, rooms are sufficiently spacious and the staff was super friendly. My favorite part was the large and delicious breakfast buffet. The location is not exactly central to Lausanne, but still easy to reach with public transport.
