We spent 1 night here prior to our river cruise to Amsterdam. the location was excellent for a little shopping and sightseeing for our abreviated stay.Literally a 2 minute walk to Spalentor Gate. Besides having a convenient location near the old town, our room was very comfortable and spacious. We overlooked the front courtyard on the Main Street, but the windows sealed out the traffic noise. Excellent place to stay in Basel. They had all the amenities one could ask for while traveling (even a scale to see how much one gained during the trip!). The staff was excellent; bed comfortable; clean facilities and good, varied breakfast included with the room.
