Quality/price very good for a hotel in Basel city.
This is the 2nd time I stay here for my business trip and as always the room is clean (cleaner than in a 4stars hotel). The 1st time my room had street view. As a person which is very sensible with external noises; I asked, this time, for an upgrade to have a “garden” view which cost me only CHF 10.- more per night.Breakfast is okay. I don’t eat much at breakfast so no big expectation from my side.… This is the 2nd time I stay here for my business trip and as always the room is clean (cleaner than in a 4stars hotel). The 1st time my room had street view. The most unfriendly hotel 'welcome' I've ever experienced
Arrived to be greeted by a receptionist unfriendly to the point of rudeness. My wife and I were given a small 'L' shaped room (506) with twin beds that were around the corner from each other. No fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, or any other amenities. We were at the rear of the hotel, so at least it was quiet. The highlight was the shower, which was very good. Checking in at 10.30pm and there is nobody and the door is locked (while the reception is said to be open until 11.00pm). After several calls on the intercom and on the phone, arrives a sleepy grumpy man who unenthusiastically finally lets me check in. But this was just the best part of my stay here... then comes the room - a tiny space without any aircon or ventilation whatsoever but with a fridg… Checking in at 10.30pm and there is nobody and the door is locked (while the reception is said to be open until 11.00pm).
