Your grandma might really love it

    rating13 Mar 2023

Well, there is some charm to this place I must be honest - the charm of the late 1980s - early 1990s, with an impressive (for that time) radio system in the room, and all the poshy-flashy things (for the time). Your grandma would be really happy to stay here and reminisce of the good old days, yet we are here in the year 2023 and for these modern times the place is quite dated... Not even mentioning the fact that my 'room with a nice view' promised by the hotel management turned out to be the one overlooking the dumpster. Breakfast is a disaster - cold cuts and stale bread + some really bad and unhealthy sweet options; do not pay for it in advance if you can.

Good hotel in outskirts of Soria

    rating12 Oct 2019

We stayed for 2 nights on unit 005. We were there on Sep 12-14 and the hotel already turned off the air-conditioned (only fan, not refrigerating), so we needed to open the window and this maintained the room temperature pleasant, we did not have any problem having the window opened, it was quiet, no mosquitos and it had a beautiful view. The furniture is antique style and the carpet already shows some wear, but the unit was clean, quiet, and comfortable (after opening the windows) and the hotel has plenty of spaces to park around without charges. The buffet breakfast was ok.

    A wonderful introduction to Spain

    rating21 Oct 2015

Soria, was our first stop en route to friends who live near Tarragona. Neither of us had visited Spain for at least 45 years and then we had only stayed briefly near Barcelona for a camping/beach holiday. The hotel looked out onto a fantastic vista of rolling Spanish hills. Our room, on the second floor, had a large picture window with easy to use shutter blinds, a large comfortable double bed and a separate large modern bathroom with the added luxury of twin basins and a bidet. The dining-room was pleasant and the food simple and inexpensive. A continental breakfast was available and this was included in your room charge. There are some super walks literally a stone's throw away down to the River Duero which runs through Soria so plenty of opportunity for exercise. Also, as they eat much later in the evening in Spain, we walked from the hotel (which perches at the top of the town) down into the centre before supper, where we found a hub of activity and plenty of places to stop off for a coffee or something stronger.

    A charming jewel...

    rating26 May 2015

Myself and three friends had been on the road since getting off the the ferry at Santander earleir that day. This hotel was on our planned route and twin rooms had been booked in advance. We arrived about six o'clock, were quickly processed through reception and shown to our rooms. Spacious, airy and with a great view over the valley we counted our blessings and reckoned that we were quite lucky. Everything worked. The beds were comfy. There was plenty of storage space and the bathroom was of sufficient size for two blokes to sort themselves out.Plenty of parking was available and the hotel was located next to a church in a quiet area...on the fringe actually...of the town. We opted to eat in Soria and found the town centre about 15 minutes away, downhill. After a few beers and some wine...and a few morsels of food we made our way back to the hotel which to be honest for four blokes in their 50's full of beer and strange foreign food was not too difficult. We enjoyed looking around the town anyway. Upon arrival at the hotel, the receptionist was also the barman. He served us drinks (as we were thirsty after negotiating the uphill walk) which seemed reasonably priced. Eventually we all went to bed and had a wonderful peaceful sleep.Breakfast in the morning was straight forward continental fare which satisfied our bellies. Being self service, we just ate until we were stuffed. We chatted to a nice German couple which added to our experience. The staff were all polite and helpful. Our wifi worked fine. Breakfast was fine. The location was great - yes it's on top of a hill but for us the views out weighed the short walk upwards - you can't have it all ways. Would I stay here again? Yes, without a doubt.

    A tired Hotel

    rating30 Jul 2014

This hotel is not as nice as the photos would have you believe. The atmosphere in the hotel is zero, the rooms and decor are all very aged and tired, the facilities are basic and the bar was all but closed with the single member of staff having to book us in and then run to the bar to serve us and that only had 3 large glasses!! We were told that the restaurant wouldn't open until 9pm but to be honest with the total lack of atmosphere and limited and expensive menu we didn't want to eat there anyway. The location is a good 30 minute walk to the centre of Soria which is itself a very nice centre with many bars restaurants and shops. Safe parking is limited to just a few spaces at the front of the hotel, otherwise you will have to park on waste land at the side of the building. Would we stay there again? Unfortunately not!!
