A pleasant hotel on the shore of a beautiful sea

    rating23 Oct 2025

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly, the location was excellent, and the breakfasts were very filling and varied. I was a little disappointed with the tired-looking room, especially in the bathroom, where the tiles had been inexplicably painted over.

Basic hotel with paper thin walls!

    rating18 Oct 2025

This hotel is in an old building with extremely poor soundproofing. I had a room with a balcony which looked onto the side street directly onto flats opposite. There was no sheer curtain in the room, only a blackout curtain. So you can either have the curtain open and no privacy, or closed and no daylight. The room was clean and functional, but nothing special. The bed was surprisingly comfortable (hard, which I like). The shower was very low pressure and after a few minutes turned to scalding hot for a few seconds, before going back to normal temperature. The breakfast buffet was excellent and included healthy cereal, fruit, museli and yoghurt choices, as well as pancakes and pastries and cooked options. The worst thing for me was the fact that the walls are paper thin. I was there during the film festival, so there was a lot of noise in the street, well into the early hours of the morning. Unfortunately I had noisy neighbours above and below me who kept me awake all night, to the extent that the following night I had to go down to reception at 3am and ask to sleep elsewhere. The receptionist was very understanding and gave me another room, where I was able to sleep. Although that room stank of drains and had a drip in the bathroom, (which luckily I couldn't hear once I closed the bathroom door). The hotel does have a 'strict policy' of no noise between certain hours at night, but people just don't respect them, plus when the receptionist tried to call my neighbours, he found they had unplugged their phone. I guess I was unlucky, but if you are going to book this place, be warned about the noise and take ear plugs!

    It’s the sea view!

    rating16 Oct 2025

The location of Hotel Subur is excellent: right on the (usually busy) seafront boulevard and just steps from the beach. In October, however, the atmosphere is pleasantly calm. Room 201 offered a fantastic view, which really made the stay special. The room has a summery charm, though some signs of wear and tear are noticeable. Breakfast was okay, nothing special, and served in a rather dated sports bar. Still, the combination of the great location and the sea view makes this hotel a good choice for a beachside stay in Sitges.

    Not Worth The Money

    rating14 Oct 2025

This hotel is a two star hotel at best. While it’s in a good location, the hotel is terrible. We booked a superior room facing the ocean. The room was old and very dated with curtains falling down from the windows, broken floor tiles in the bathroom as well as peeling paint from mold and moisture. The refrigerator in the room does not work, the furniture is very uncomfortable and one chair was broken. At check-in and other time throughout our stay, the two male staff members were extremely rude and we felt like more of a burden to them when we asked questions. After looking around the area, there are much nicer options to choose from. Would not recommend this hotel and will not stay again.

Great location, service and price! 🌈

My husband and I stayed here on the last leg of our honeymoon and loved it! The hotel has historic charm outside and a modern, welcoming lobby. Staff were always friendly and helpful with towels, an iron, and spot-on recommendations. Our side room had a balcony with a partial sea view—cozy by U.S. standards but smartly designed, with space under the bed for luggage. Bed and pillows were super comfortable, and the A/C worked perfectly (powerful but quiet). Housekeeping came in the afternoon, which was ideal for sleeping in.My husband and I stayed here on the last leg of our honeymoon and loved it! Hotel Subur has such a unique balance of historic charm on the outside and a modern, welcoming lobby inside. The staff made us feel right at home—always friendly, quick to bring extra towels or an iron, and full of great recommendations for dining and nightlife. Our room was on the side of the building with a balcony and a partial sea view, which was fantastic. While the room itself was on the smaller side compared to U.S. hotels, the layout was very smart. We easily slid two large suitcases and two carry-ons under the raised bed, which gave us plenty of space to move around. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the air conditioning was strong, quiet, and worked perfectly—so much so that we never had to turn it down to the lowest setting. As people who like to sleep cold, this was a huge plus. Housekeeping came in the afternoons, which was perfect for us since we enjoyed sleeping in after late nights out.The location truly can’t be beat. The hotel sits directly across the street from the beach and promenade, and it’s just a block away from Judgement Square (Plaça Cap de la Vila), where you’ll find shops, cafés, and the lively gay bars Sitges is known for. It’s also a very easy walk to the train station and a large supermarket, which came in handy. Playa Balmins, the nude, mostly gay beach, is just a pleasant 15-minute walk away, with restaurants and scenic views along the way. We felt extremely safe walking around, even late at night. Sitges is filled with people from around the world, and it seems like there’s always life in the streets—day and night—apart from the traditional midday siesta. As for noise, we never had an issue with exterior sounds from the street, even though the hotel is in such a lively spot. The only time we noticed noise was in the mornings if someone was loud in the corridor. Since the floors are a mix of wood and tile, sound does carry. It wasn’t a big issue, but as a light sleeper, I travel with a sound machine. Earplugs would work too, especially if you’re prone to jet lag like us! One thing we especially appreciated was how convenient everything was. Directly across the small side street is a store that sells inexpensive beach umbrellas and chairs—perfect for long beach days. We also picked up Turkish towels from a street vendor nearby, which made for beautiful and practical souvenirs. The hotel is very LGBT-friendly, and it was wonderful to meet other gay couples who were staying there too. The atmosphere felt welcoming, safe, and inclusive. For us, Subur was more than just a place to sleep—it added to the whole experience of Sitges. Staying here on our honeymoon made the trip feel even more magical. 🌈❤️
