  Excellent base for ski trip with brilliant food.

  This is an excellent and well run hotel by very attentive staff.Location. Close to slopes and the ski lift but at the periphery of the town so you get amazing views as far as you can see. There was not any noise from bars etc, but you are right down in the town on the right level.Setup. Very efficient and all ski gear can be stored in the top rated ski lockers on site at the minus 1 level. The lockers are high quality and aerate as well as dry so you are good to go in the morning. The ski shop sells anything you may have forgotten and the staff are very helpful and polite.Spa. We had 2 complimentary visits and it was great to unwind after the day skiing. Sauna was hot and the hydro massage jets were great way to relax after skiing. You need flip flops and a swimming hat so take them if you have them although you can buy them there for 4 euro each item.Room. Hot shower over the bath with good pressure that was very welcomed after day on the slopes. Rituals complimentary shower products.The room could get quite hot but there was a large window to allow air flow. Very comfortable beds indeed and towels high quality.Food. We had half board and both breakfast and dinner were superb. Freshly made omelettes on request and endless choice for breakfast. At dinner there was always freshly cooked meats and fish including steak and sea bass.Wine list was good with sensible options available. The view from the dining room was impressive. Christian and Bruno were especially attentive waiting staff.I would highly recommending staying here based on the quality of the staff and food. Location is excellent and ski lockers superb.   The Melia Sol y Nieve is a very central ski hotel, perfect if you want to be right by everything in Sierra Nevada. The location is excellent – no long walks, taxis, or hikes needed to get to the gondola or nearby amenities, which is exactly why we chose it.It’s a family-friendly hotel, so expect a lively atmosphere. We were often woken around 7 a.m. by children running and playing in the hallways. You have to take the good with the bad here.If you’re after a quieter, more relaxed stay, another option like the Maribel might suit better. But overall, it’s a solid choice for a few nights in Sierra Nevada, especially for convenience and ski access.   I went in the family room Mountain View and WOW what a view the room was lovely and the bathrooms were so elegant. The breakfast buffet had wide variety of food suitable for all ages. Also the room was so clean and the staff were always helpful.The bar was great to watch the football. The one thing I do have to say though is that it was quite a long walk to the gondola. Sometimes after skiing it was quite noisy because of all the bars in the village playing music but at night it was quiet and easy to sleep. Another thing I would like to mention is the spar was so relaxing after a long day of skiing. Over all it was a very nice hotel to stay in but if you don’t like carrying skis/snowboards then maybe go for something closer to the gondola.   Superb hotel right in the heart of the resort. Ideal location - 2 mins walk to the ski lift. Valet parking was a welcome surprise, concierge organised ski rental at a very good price. Service was excellent, lots of delicious food choice in the restaurant (half board recommended). Spa was incredible (payable locally at a discounted price). Overall this is one of the best ski hotels I’ve stayed in.   An amazing experience, certainly another “Level”!!!

  We treated ourselves to a Level experience as part of a ski trip to Sierra Nevada. From the minute we arrived to the time we left the service was exceptional, every member of staff went out of their way to ensure we had a special experience and never did it feel put on!My wife is coeliac which she mentioned in passing on the first day and from that moment on, every time we went to the Level lounge she was brought her own plate of GF tapas without asking which gave her reassurance of their understanding of the condition, which is often misunderstood, and she knew the food was safe to eat and not run the risk of ruining her skiing the next day! Also, included within the Level package is spa access which is a fantastic way to relax after a day on the slopes before a bit of apres ski!
