The Aurea Capuchinos Hotel is in a former Capuchin monastery built in the 1600s and later used for military purposes. We stayed in a superior suite with three aspect windows and high ceilings. Excellent bathroom. Overall, we similar experience as our Parador experiences in Leon and Santiago. Not a 5 star hotel. The only good thing was the view from our room. The hotel is seriously understaffed and the existing staff had nothing to do with a 5 star hotel, no greeting, no smile. You have to park yourself and the hotel is much further from the center than mentioned in the description. Room itself was kind of dated with visible decay seen on the walls. A very bad experience that will not… Not a 5 star hotel. The only good thing was the view from our room. We were on a road trip through Spain and we decided to stay in this hotel because of the ease of access by car and parking on site. The property is beautiful and full of character situated in a historic building. Rooms are very very spacious and clean although furniture is not the best quality. For example very squeaky bed.
