Favela in Salou!!!
If you're not sure what a Favela is, it's a slum or impoverished area in Brasil. Not that the surrounding area and hotels are bad, just this particular apartment block.Best laugh is, we were told Rentalmar Salou Playa has just recently been refurbished.Knew this was not going to be good from the moment of arrival.Upon arrival you are greeted by the most rude, incompetent, obnoxious reception staff… If you're not sure what a Favela is, it's a slum or impoverished area in Brasil. The only good thing about this place is the location. When you arrive they tell you there is a €300 deposit. They also tell you that it is your responsibility to clean the room when you’re ready to leave, but you have to go buy your own cleaning products. The coloured girl on front desk is very rude when we booked in. Rooms are big but very very basic. No kettle nothing. Can’t even open windows an… The only good thing about this place is the location. Good Experience
After seeing reviews I was very sceptical. Good location, rooms basic but clean. No kettle but that’s wasn’t a big issue. Had to wash anything that you used cups etc something I’d always do anyway and also take your rubbish out to big bins on the street. Absolutely ridiculous
This hotel is closed! We arrived with 2 small tired children to an empty building with a note that asked us to walk to another hotel 20 minutes away.... We did this and then where told our new hotel isnt even in salou so we would have to pay for another taxi there.... And they wanted another £300! Great stay, don’t understand the bad reviews
We were given upgraded apartments because of the construction work, the staff were friendly checking in, the apartments were big and clean, the location is great and the deposit was back in my bank when I got home.
