Fabulous 2 day stay at the Parador Salamanca.Very generous and spacious rooms, and as others have previously mentioned if you have a room facing towards the city you truly have the most magnificent views of the Cathedral ??Breakfasts were acceptable, on the first morning, they were incredibly busy and staff appeared a little overwhelmed. We were looking forward to returning to Parador Salamanca, and expected the same, excellent experience as before. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. First, though, it is fair to highlight the positives, including the cafe bar, albeit with a rather restricted menu, where the staff are consistently friendly, professional, and very efficient. I stayed, with my wife, at the Parador in July. Overall our experience was good but could be better. On the plus side the location is good, a 15 minute walk into the old city (a comfortable walk for us in our seventies). We had a superior room which was spacious and comfortable. Out of the town and in the heat we didnt bother walking. First impressions at reception there was no Welcome...Just a stern lady who just said 'PASSPORTS' to us in a rather demanding way. I tried to make conversation with her but she hardly acknowledged me. Not the best start but the room with a view of the cathedral was lovely and at night the lights were beautiful. This hotel is chic. Has its own style and very inviting. The hotel was extremely clean and tidy. Beautiful thick rugs on the corridor. Large double bedroom 107 overlooking the spectacular cathedral.
