  Five Stars ***** Ski Escape to Remember

  We have recently returned from our stay at the MIM Hotel and all we can say is WOW!! The hotel is absolutely beautiful with an amazing team that are on hand to make your stay welcoming from the moment you arrive all topped off with a complimentary glass of Cava after a long journey. 

A particular highlight was the porter service taking our skis directly to the locker room so that you can basically ski in & out with the bubble lift taking you straight to the mountain, it’s these offerings that really did elevate our overall experience during our stay. 

The food was excellent and did not disappoint, breakfast was especially impressive, with a wide variety of options including pastries, fruits and cheeses, alongside a hot section where dishes were freshly cooked to order. Dinner option was also amazing again with lots to choose from, let’s put it this way you won’t go hungry!

Our only minor disappointment and it was minor, related to the swimming pool and spa facilities. We had booked this holiday a year in advance and had expected full access to this area as originally advertised. Unfortunately, due to a change of ownership, these facilities were no longer included, and were only provided with just one complimentary one-hour session per person. If you are planning to use the spa facilities, it’s worth noting that there is now an additional charge.

  Absolutely Terrible

  Writing this review at 4am where for the 4th night in a row the alarm is incredibly loud in the hallway from someone smoking in their room on a different floor. The service has been extremely slow with wait times of 20-30 minutes to get breakfast. They are understaffed completely. There is a guy who’s job it is to wait in the hotel lobby and upsell you to buy into the hotel brand package and pushing that down your throats that many guests are saying has no real benefits. It has been less than a 2 star experience and the staff are extremely unhelpful. This was a complete waste of money and the service has decreased by so much since last year. get an Airbnb instead for half the price.   Unbeatable Ski-in/Ski-out Convenience, Service Falls Short of 5-Star Expectations

  Baqueira is a relatively small ski resort, with limited options for nightlife or activities beyond skiing. This is very much a ski-first destination, and expectations should be set accordingly.From a skiing perspective, Hotel MIM Baqueira is exceptionally well located. The lockers, included in the room rate, are directly underneath the gondola. You can ski straight out with zero friction. The hotel also has agreements with local rental shops that deliver your ski equipment directly to your locker. The experience is extremely well thought out. You leave your room wearing normal shoes, change at the lockers, and within 20 meters you’re on the slopes. Operationally, this is a 10/10.Breakfast is varied and well executed, with live cooking stations. There is a small pool and a solid spa, both appreciated after a day on the mountain. Drinks at the bar are fine.Food, however, is average. The restaurants Hincha and Bajo Zero are simply okay, nothing memorable. Service is inconsistent, leaning toward mediocre. At one point I asked a waitress what type of meat was used for a milanesa. She didn’t know, and when I asked if she could check with the kitchen, she flatly refused. That says a lot. I ended up having a very average pizza.I spent my birthday weekend at the hotel. My travel agent informed them in advance, and it was also noted at check-in. There was no acknowledgment whatsoever. Not a note, not a courtesy chocolate. For a hotel positioning itself in the upper tier, this was genuinely disappointing.   Good food, good location, rude staff and service

  We stayed in MIM Baqueira last year for a full week. While the locations is good and the food really good we felt the rooms were rather small, and the hotel lacks pleasant areas to hang around, only the typical bar beside the reception. As such we decided to stay elsewhere, but booked two diners at MIM. When we arrived first reaction two three families with 16 ppl was to tell us that there was no room. When we showed the emails confirming the reservation the maitre came and asked us to wait for 5 min while they set up the tables, which eventually happened 15 min after. We had a good buffet dinner (even if some of the options were no longer available, and had four bottles of wine. When we went for the check we noticed there were three extra beers (we had only had one) which was frankly a small item within the full picture. Nevertheless, the restaurant night manager, Gabriel, ended up claiming that we were leaving without paying the beers, and even trying to charge for two additional people in n the original reservation who didn’t have dinner. Overall terrible and even rude service.   It’s all about location

  Good spot in Baqueira / Ruda if you want to stay close to the ski slopes and avoid the daily commute from nearby towns. The hotel was renovated late 2020 and is still in very good shape. Very friendly and helpful staff, superb breakfast buffet. It is quite expensive and wouldn’t worth the price if it wasn’t for its location.
