The worst of the worst, book somewhere else

    rating05 Apr 2026

The worst hotel experience I’ve had in at least the last 10 years. I made it less than a minute in the first room they gave us, took pictures because it was so bad, and walked back to the front desk to ask for a new room. They didn’t have our specific room type, which was fine, because I would rather share beds than stay in the first room. There was wadded up wet toilet paper on the toilet sink when I lifted the lid, hair on the top of the toilet and the ground under the toilet, the carpet was filthy, the desk was stained and warped, desk chair absolutely filthy, carpet pulling apart. I wish I could say it was so much better with our new room. The temp never got below 71 degrees, the toilet paper holder was just completely missing, this giant board under the tv fell on my 2 year olds back when she walked by it, no sheets or pillows for the pull out couch so had to wait an hour for that….then the “amenities” were seriously lacking. The pool and pool area were tiny and so crowded (it was wild), absolutely no breakfast left when we went to breakfast, not a single plate or fork could be found anywhere, no restocking empty items and there was an hour of breakfast left. We were able to get an omelet made and it was good, the guy working was nice. There was a male bartender working the evening we arrived and he was very nice as well. Those are actually the only good thing I have to say about this place. I messaged in the Hilton app and the text messaging system the send out when you check in. I got no responses ever, I don’t receive my “welcome” benefit for being a gold member even though I asked about it. It’s super disappointing that this is a Hilton property and it’s managed this way General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Embassy Suites by Hilton Cincinnati RiverCenter, responded to this review We are genuinely sorry, Laken, that your experience left you so disappointed. The condition of your guest rooms and the issues you faced with amenities, comfort, and communication are unacceptable. Our housekeeping and engineering teams will be reviewing what happened during your visit, and our Guest Relations team needs to reconnect regarding the communication breakdown and missed membership benefit. We appreciate that you recognized those members of our team who made a positive impression, even amidst your many frustrations. Your comments will help us focus on areas where we must do better to support all of our guests. Thank you for sharing your detailed account with us.

    Breakfast area understaffed

    rating02 Apr 2026

Rooms are adequate and location is fantastic. My biggest complaint is poor signage for the parking garage and for the garage elevator. It’s not clear when you enter the garage you should park on level G4 for easy access to the hotel. If you park on any other level you’ll have to deal with stairs. The breakfast was delicious. Loved the fresh made to order omelettes but the breakfast area was not staffed well. The limited number of employees couldn’t keep up with stocking the food and plates. They ran out of clean plates, utensils, milk, fruit, juice and coffee an hour before the complimentary breakfast closed.Complaints to the front desk were only moderately acknowledged by saying they would notify someone. It was apparent there was no manager watching the breakfast area.Seemed like 2 employees were doing all the work and it was too much for them to handle. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Embassy Suites by Hilton Cincinnati RiverCenter, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, Brian. We appreciate your kind words about our location and are glad your room met your needs. We are sorry the breakfast experience and parking signage created frustration during your visit. It is concerning to hear about the challenges with both the morning offerings and the communication from our front desk. Our Food & Beverage and Guest Relations teams will review your comments closely to understand how we can provide better support and a smoother experience.Your feedback provides valuable insight, and we are grateful for the opportunity to improve.

    The best of the best.

    rating17 Mar 2026

Keonte is such a gift. My wife and I connected with him right away. Erica at the front desk was great, Darcel the assistant GM treated us like family and Mark, who is a one of a kind, and if you ever get to meet him you’ll know just what I mean. They all showed us a level of hospitality unlike anything we have ever experienced anywhere. Such an amazing group of folks. Because of the quality of our time here this past weekend this will always be our place to stay anytime we are in the area. Real nice rooms! Spectacular views and minutes away from everything. Two thumbs up. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Embassy Suites by Hilton Cincinnati RiverCenter, responded to this review Mark, reading your review made us smile from ear to ear. It is incredibly meaningful to hear how our team members, from Keonte and Erica to Darcel and Mark, left such a lasting impression on you and your wife. Providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere is at the heart of everything we do, so knowing you felt treated like family is truly rewarding. We're also delighted you enjoyed your guest room and the views, as well as our convenient location near the best of the area.Thank you for making Embassy Suites Cincinnati Rivercenter Covington your go-to hotel—nothing could make us prouder! We cannot wait to welcome you both back whenever your travels bring you to town.

    Rude Bartender Ruins Anniversary Cheer

    rating28 Feb 2026

As a 30th anniversary gift my husband and I were given tickets to an event on Feb 28th and were scheduled to meet our group at the Embassy Suites bar beforehand. It was our idea, we always stay at a Hilton when we travel for business or pleasure and while we had never been to the Cincinnati one, we anticipated kind staff. We arrived at 5:50 pm and while the bar had several people mingling around, no one was seated for dinner and the area was fairly empty but everyone seemed to have a drink in hand. There was one man to our left, who had been served, but other than that we were the only ones. The bartender saw us and when I started to order she walked away to the other side of the bar and began talking with a gentleman who was walking up to the bar. She began a conversation with him, walked back to us and made him a drink in front of us and then walked back to him and continued her conversation. It was 6:01 pm at this point. When she carried his credit card to the cash register I said, "May we please order two Old Fashioneds when you have a moment?" She didn't look at us, although clearly she heard us, we were less than a foot away. Then two older ladies began walking to the bar. She took their order before they reached the bar and even suggested drinks. Then she walked over to us and made their drinks in front of us. After she delivered the drinks she proceeded to walk over to the other side of the bar and she began talking to the other lady bartender about lids. At this point it was 6:04. My husband walked to the other side of the bar thinking maybe the other bartender might help us so we wouldn't be late. Then the first lady asked the gentleman beside me who had the drink if he'd like a beer. When there was no one else left she grabbed the bourbon and practically growled, "two Old Fashioneds." I simply said, "yes, please." At this point it was 6:07 pm. I handed her my credit card the moment she put the glasses in front of me. Since it was 10 minutes past when we were supposed to meet our friends, my husband left to catch up with them. He and I didn't get to enjoy a 30th wedding anniversary cocktail at the bar, not to mention we felt invisible, disappointed, angry, and frustrated. And had to pay $25 for cocktails we didn't have time to drink. The extremely rude, unprofessional, frowning, condescending bartender was the lady on the same bar side as the ballroom that had a sign that talked about A Detective Dinner working from 5:50 pm - 6:30 pm.

I do not recommend staying here.

    rating07 Feb 2026

This is my second time staying here. I had no complaints the first time; however, the second time, I had a multitude of issues. I stayed here for a business trip along with my family, which should have been covered by my company, and all our rooms were supposed to have been previously allocated. However, none of our rooms seemed to be allotted ahead of time. This was a recurring issue with many of my colleagues, and overall proved to be detrimental to our experience with this hotel. The following are a few things I have noticed in my own experience here.Parking and initial observations.- There was no valet service, even though I noticed a sign stating that there was.- The elevators reeked of cigarette smoke.Check in and service:- We initially received a room that already had guests inside it.- We had moved to another room, but the keycard did not work. Once we got inside, however, there were already another guest's belongings inside the room.- We moved to another room, where there were guests inside.- We were forced again into another room that we had thought would be the final one, but twice the keycard did not work. We later got kicked out of that room since another guest seemed to have a reservation.- We transferred to another room, where there were guests inside.- We relocated to the final room, but the keycard did not work.- The customer service was terrible. I went down there to change rooms, but the clerk had a horrible attitude and severely upset me.- My daughter went down there in my place, since I was not in the right state of mind, and the receptionists would not tell her anything and did not answer her questions. She was upset and came to me crying.- We received "compensation" for the severe inconveniences in the form of a box of snacks. A staff member looked through those snacks and took one.The rooms and overall atmosphere- The first room that we were kicked out of due to a previous reservation reeked of cigarette smoke. The overall atmosphere felt sketchy and unsafe.- The final room we ended up staying at had multitudes of stains, notably on the table and carpet. The general atmosphere of this hotel felt sketchy and cold, unlike any other hotel I have stayed at.Overall:The atmosphere is not enjoyable; it is frequently loud, and there are constantly people running through the halls or being noisy in an adjacent room. The service is horrible, did not help, and severely upset both me and my daughter. The rooms are disgusting. There are stains everywhere, and they often have a smoky smell. It is difficult to park, there is no valet service, and the parking area is in a questionable location. The hotel itself seems to be severely outdated; this is most noticeable inside the rooms.I do not recommend staying here. General Manager, Guest Services / Front Office at Embassy Suites by Hilton Cincinnati RiverCenter, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re sorry your experience fell so far short of expectations on this occasion. Your concerns about both room assignments and overall service have been shared with our team for careful review. We understand the impact this had on your visit, especially during a business trip with family. Your feedback is important to us and will be used to help guide improvements moving forward.
