Location

The hotel is located in the heart of the “Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas” nature reserve, in the small town of Saucejo. It is 25 km from the town of Cazorla and just an hour by car from the cities of Ubeda and Baeza, both of which are recognised as World Heritage Sites. The elevated position of the hotel offers unsurpassable panoramic views of the surrounding hillsides, which are covered with native pine trees. The atmosphere of tranquillity and the beautiful enclaves such as the “Cañada de las Fuentes”, or the “Salto de Linarejos”, make it a meeting point for lovers of nature. The Parque Cinegetico is about an hour away by car. Arroyo Frio, with its range of bars and nightlife, is about a 20-minute drive away. The nearest links to public transport and the bus station can be found in Cazorla. The Pantano Lake is about an hours drive away. The Guadalquivir River Information Centre is about a 90-minute drive away, while the Torre del Vinagre and the Borosa River Information Centre are both just 30 minutes away.

Perfect place to stay when visiting Ubeda

The Parador at Ubeda is at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site -- and is in a magnificent and beautifully restored old Palacio next to the Cathedral -- and an easy woalk to all the main sites in the town, and to dozens of tapas bars and restaurants. Where the air is clear…

Yes it is quite a slow and long drive from Cazorla, especially at night but’s it is worth it when you get there. Not sure of the history of the building, but the hotel is old style and well-appointed. The rooms may not be the brightest but that if anything added to the charm of this rural escape…the shower/bathroom was as good as any. While the cost of the stay was excellent value, we felt the pricing of the restaurant was quite expensive by Spanish standards…the service that went with it was spot on though. Given the fact that this hotel is located in one of the largest National Parks in Spain, it would greatly help if the there was more information available at the hotel on suggested routes, hikes, etc. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
