Excellent Value and Traditional Spanish Charm
So before the pros, the only Con. I will just say that literally no English is spoken, so a smattering of Restaurant Spanish is useful. Other than that we had dinner b&b, for 110 Euro in May. The breakfast was basic but all you would want, bread, meat, cheese etc, the evening meal was great if over large portions for us. Impressive building and decent rooms
On the edge of La Calahorra which when we visited was a very quiet town. On the edge of the Sierra Nevada with great views of the imposing castle and mountains beyond. Decent rooms, and everything you need for a short stay. Looks like it had seen better / busier days but much of hospitality has suffered over the last 18 months. Depressing stay, tired, badly managed -except for restaurant staff
The hotel has seen better days. Plants outside were dying and there was dust and rubbish round the entrance. We were told the pool was closed in advance ,- the offer of admission to another pool was made but 5 Kms away! Our room had no view and a child’s bed in it where I assume a chair might have been. The bathroom was clean and well equipped . We were plagued by flies in the room which we were t… The hotel has seen better days.
