This hotel is located in completely peaceful surroundings, lying next to a sheer rock face and bordered by Las Playas Bay, directly beside the long pebble/ volcanic sand beach that offers wonderful panoramic views over the sea. This completely relaxing refuge lies in a secluded spot, around 9 km from the nearest town of Puerto de la Estaca. Valverde, the nearest large town, is approximately 20 km from the hotel.

The hotel has 45 non-smoking rooms, which are located on 2 storeys and are reachable by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. First stay in a Parador

We booked our 3 night Half Board stay direct with the hotel after joining the Amigo de Paradores. This gave us a special rate and the option to book a Seaview room, which was not offered on booking.com etc. The room was lovely, with a great view over the gardens, beach and sea. Very clean and comfortable. The evening dinner was a choice of starter, main and dessert from the main restaurant menu. Plenty of choice and everything was delicious and well presented. Breakfast was a bit chaotic due to the hotel hosting a very large group who all ate at the same time. At times, it appeared that the staff were stretched, keeping everyone happy and restocking the buffet. All the staff, with the exception of the barman, were friendly and helpful. The latter seemed quite unfriendly and stern. As we knew, the swimming pool was covered over and has been out of use for a long time. There are no signs that it will even reopen. Parador prices for a 2 stars room value

Pretty expensive place for the value, starting with paying Parador prices for rooms quality of a 2 star hotel, old tv system, no amenities, room toilet not working well , swimming pool, gym and saunas out of service. I have been in many Parador before and I never have seen anything like that. The only values are the restaurant and the surroundings. Avoid if you can, there are much better places in El Hierro. We had a pleasant stay and enjoyed good food and friendly service.The Parador is located near the end of a dead end road without any near services. There is a local bus service but you have to take multiple busses to get to most places on the island. If you want to pair that with an exceptional hotel experience, the Parador de El Hierro is the perfect choice. Literally situated at the road’s end, in a secluded bay with its terrace just metres from the Atlantic Ocean, the views are breathtaking. The only sound breaking the silence is the gentle rhythm of the waves. A superior room with a sea-facing balcony is worth every euro.The Parador is impeccably maintained: rooms are spacious and bright, with comfortable beds and generous wardrobe space. You’ll find a safe, a fridge, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The air conditioning is whisper-quiet and works perfectly, even in December. Bathrooms are large, with two basins and a bathtub, and the towels are huge and fluffy. Housekeeping is spotless throughout, both in the rooms and common areas.We stayed for twelve nights on half-board and never tired of the food. Breakfast is small but exquisite, featuring high-quality local produce, with hot dishes freshly prepared to order. Dinner is traditional, with three courses chosen from the regular menu. Ingredients seem to be sourced fresh from the market daily. Most dishes have a local touch, and all are prepared with great skill. Service is fast, friendly, and professional. Every dinner was a highlight.It’s clear that the entire team at the Parador takes pride in ensuring guests are happy and does their utmost to achieve it.
