Charming little hotel in a lovely rural town

    rating12 Jun 2024

We stayed here on a road trip of Spain, we chose it as nothing more than a stopping off point on our way to the coast, unfortunately we had booked in on a Sunday which meant that everything in the hotel was essentially closed. The only staff present was the lady who checked us in and we were the only guests in the whole place. She pointed to the centre of the town on the map where we could find a few restaurants for our evening meal. This sounds like a disaster but to be honest we found a nice place to eat which was very reasonable and actually enjoyed our stay in the little town. The hotel was very reasonably priced so we had their largest room which was spotlessly clean and even had a nice rooftop terrace. They did us proud for breakfast in the morning considering we were the only guests, overall we both felt that staying here was a pleasant interlude on our journey. I’m sure if it was any other day than a Sunday we would have had a nice meal in their restaurant.

    PERFECT STOPOVER DOWN SOUTH

    rating12 Oct 2021

We travelled by motorbike from Zaragoza to Arcos de la Frontera and decided to make a quick stop on the way. Nice and cozy hotel, with fair and fine dinner, COVID-respectful and just fitting our needs. Fair price.

    A good decision

    rating04 Mar 2020

We chose this hotel for convenience for a visit to the Motilla del Azuer and were impressed by the friendly atmosphere, tasteful decoration and general layout of the building with its semi-courtyard terrace. Our room on the first floor overlooking a small side street was comfortable and despite the fact that we had inadvertently selected carnival weekend the noise from the street was not bad and most importantly it was quiet at night. We were glad not to have opted for the alternative offer of a ground floor room overlooking the park. One of the rooms overlooking the first floor terrace would be our choice if we were to return. Some reviewers have been critical about the lack of restaurants in the town and while it may be true that it is not oversupplied with good restaurants, we had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch at the Gastro Canela Fina just off Plaza de San Pedro. Good food, excellent atmosphere and great value.Saturday night we ate in the hotel and enjoyed a good meal at a very reasonable price. Parking in the main road was temporally prohibited because of the carnival but we still found a place in a parallel slip road just across from the hotel. Getting into the hotel underground car park, accessed from the narrow side street, looked to be a bit of a challenge for anything larger than a mini.

    What a lovely surprise

    rating22 Sept 2019

Decided to stop in Daimiel on the way from Avila to Malaga and booked into the Hotel Donna Manuela. Warm and efficient check-in and given a big and bright room overlooking the patio. The hotel is beautifully decorated and furnished and immaculately clean. After a comfortable night's sleep, we enjoyed a buffet breakfast in the dining room. A wide selection of cured meats, cheese, bread, fruit, cereals and pastries in a bright dining room. This hotel is a great example of a small family run hotel competing and doing a better job than the large and expensive chains. Cant think of anything more they could have done to make our stay better.

Don’t be put off by exterior!

    rating30 Mar 2019

Initial impression is that the hotel is at a fairly busy junction, but the main part of hotel is at a right angle to the road, and overlooks the large open space. Whilst the hotel appears to be of relatively recent construction, it is beautifully furnished and decorated to reflect the style of local older properties. Room delightful, quiet, spacious and well equipped. Comfy bed, staff friendly and helpful. Garage parking, though there are plenty of spaces usually along the road. Very well priced. Breakfast adequate and reasonably varied. Sadly restaurant closed Sunday evenings, so cannot comment on this.
