Not very pet friendly. Depressing room.

Room smelt badly. Given basement room because of dog. Felt like a dungeon.When asked to change was told 'Government only mandated 2 rooms in the Parador for dogs' Have stayed in Canvas De Onis, excellent experience with dog. Don't say you're pet friendly if you're not and charge euro 30 a night for the dog and provide a poor experience. We’d lunched at this Parador in 2023 and loving the area we were keen to experience it as a hotel. It exceeded our expectation and the only problem was we could only stay one night. The work being done at the hotel (which did not interrupt us at all) was explained to us and sound exciting. We look forward to returning for longer in future. A bit off the beaten path and in a very quiet village, the hotel meets the basics and does have an exceptional restaurant.
