Checked in with a dog (requested a room as notified on my booking), given a room on the 7th floor which was been renovated, floors on the corridor, covered in paper, paint scrapings outside our room & strong smell of paint & fumes. I asked to be moved to another room on a lower floor on account of our dog, I was told nothing was available, after some discussions a room on the 3rd floor was offered to us which we took. The lady who checked us in, told us we could have a continental breakfast at 7am in the cafteria attached to the hotel when I told her we had to depart the next morning at 7.30am for a ferry. On arrival at reception the next morning we were told to continue on through the connecting door to the cafteria for breakfast. There was no staff present in the cafeteria, after calling out Hola a few times a lady by the name of Manoli appeared very angrily shaking her hands at us and speaking very crossly at us, she went to reception and continued the same behaviour at the reception staff & then turned & walked past us without any acknowledgment of us. We returned to the reception to ask what had just happened, to be told the cafeteria does not open till 7.30am & that we could enter in 5 mins. When we expressed our shock at been spoken at & treated in such a manner as guests of the hotel, we were told, Manoli had a bad night! Thestaff at this establishment need training in hospitality and public relations.

Easy to find, no parking charge, comfy beds

    rating09 Nov 2024

Booked last minute but don’t think there would be a problem if you just turned up. Warm welcome after 7 hour drive. Hotel rooms are tired but beds comfortable. Parking outside was safe, police station nearly opposite. Breakfast was good for 3 star hotel. Dinner was ok. Room had lovely view over river. A good stop over en route to bilbao only 1 hour away.

    Nice comfortable hotel brilliant receptionist

    rating28 Jun 2023

We have stayed here a couple of times pre pandemic,it's a good hotel convenient for the motorway north and south, plus the river and old town worth a stroll. The reason for writing this review(I haven't been moved to write one for a couple of years) is Tudancas receptionist,Lorena.what a credit to the business!! We were allocated a room but wanted to be on the river side, the hotel was busy but Lorena without fuss allocated us another room everything we asked about was dealt with cheerfully and efficiently, she even printed off two e tickets for us! Grupo Tudanca, you have a brilliant asset to your business,UK hotels would be pleased to have her.
