This attractive hotel is situated within the cultural and tourist centre of Mérida. The Roman amphitheatre, the National Museum as well as many other attractions are located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Links to the public transport network are located directly in front of the hotel. Badajoz airport is around 50 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 99 rooms, including 4 junior suites, 14 single rooms and 78 double rooms, which are located on 6 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. Bad Breakfast

We decided to have breakfast at Don Romulo (the hotel’s main cafeteria) this morning. Upon entrance, there was an immediate shock from the screaming waiters!! We sat down and no one greeted us but only yelled at us asking for what coffees we wanted. We then proceeded to order our tostadas but were straight away stopped by the waiter because we had to order by number not name of the tostadas!! During the breakfast the waiters yelling and the over all atmosphere was extremely unsettling. On top, they wouldn’t stop complaining that people kept on arriving.I will not return here unless I want to start my day with a pile of nerves!! Convenient Location, Good Gastro Pub

We were driving from Madrid to Lisbon and decided to stay about halfway and spend a night. Merida has a lot of great Roman ruins to see so we decided to stay. The hotel is quite large with a great restaurant and convenient parking. There's a very nice outdoor pool and bar area when open during the summer season. Our trip was in November so it was closed. I had booked the hotel ahead of time so check-in was very easy. Staff at the desk spoke enough English to get by. The room and furnishings seemed a little old and outdated, but this may be a little typical of European hotels. Staff was very friendly and the gastro pub had great service and food. The ruins were an easy walk from the hotel. I would stay there again and would have no problem recommending it. Good Location - Poor Experience

The room was very good and car parking convenient. Unfortunately during the afternoon and early evening there was a family celebration with lots of children running around the hotel out of control, even on our 5th floor landing. Reported to reception who said there was nothing they could do. We did not realise that the elevator was faulty in respect of a loud grinding noise when going up and down. Our room was next door. We were woken up during the night and early morning because of this. Breakfast quality was poor and quite honestly the worst orange juice we have ever tasted. After returning we noticed we had been charged for 2 nights instead of 1. I complained about the family celebration, elevator and being double charged. After a lot of communication the hotel kindly gave us 50% discount. Certainly not a 4 Star hotel in our eyes! Adequate, but noisy.

Stayed on the 14th May 2024. The hotel was clean. The staff were efficient.The bedroom was adequate, however, noise from other people in the hotel made sleeping difficult and the lift made strange noises as it stopped and also could be heard during the night,The bathroom was fine.The breakfast was adequate.Parking was 8 euros. Motorbike parking, comfortable rooms.

Stopped here for one night on our way down to Morocco on motorbikes. Not much to do in Merida (but we did get there quite late) but the Hotel Velada Mérida is easy to find with barriered secure parking next door. Parking is chargeable BUT if you're on a motorcycle, you can squeeze through the barrier (and the staff know it).Room was comfortable and breakfast ample, except there was a coach party who had arrived at the same time as us for breakfast, so there was a bit of a queue.Dinner can be served in their restaurant. Marginally on the expensive side, but it was a good meal. Bar in lobby is a godsend.
