Surrounded by majestic walls, the hotel rises up following the original lines of the former 'Piedras Albas' palace, and offers every comfort in a brilliantly recovered atmosphere which preserves the monastic, devout and spiritual air that is characteristic of the city.

First we like the quirkiness of the Paradors. Often older buildings reinvented. Avila did not disappoint.We found the staff polite and efficient. Our room was large, clean and comfortable (A/C was not working or was fixed at a winter temperature). Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine with toiletries etc. Not a fan of showers in baths but we knew this was the norm.Breakfast was a good sele… First we like the quirkiness of the Paradors. Lovely Parador - I think it used to be a Nunnery. It is built into, and part of the city walls. There is very limited parking - and you have to drive through the City walls to get to it. Well located to walk to all the attractions in Avila.The staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a small (ish) bar and lounge area and a nice dinning room. We visited this Parador in order to experience the medieval architecture of the town.We were very disappointed to discover that the Parador was in midst of mayor renovation. We had an okay stay: the rooms are spacious and clean. The personnel is friendly. The hall was under construction which took away the charm of the building. The food and drinks are average and quite expensive; especially the drinks.
