    Restaurant

    rating23 May 2019

Bad. I ordered a milk shake and my friend ordered a smoothie. The shake was ice and water. The smoothie did contain fruit, but was mostly frozen slush. Both were terrible and I wish now I hadn’t paid for either. We paid for items that we did not consume. Do not go here for food or drink.

    Nice location, that’s it!

    rating07 Aug 2018

We had such high hopes for this hotel. The entrance looks modern but the sea view rooms were so dated it was untrue! The bathroom was dirty and it smelt like an old caravan! The saving grace was the view. In the morning it is beautiful before all of the crowds arrive and exploring the beach at this time was lovely. The food in the restaurant was also really disappointing especially considering the reviews?! It took an age to get served as well. The breakfast is poor. The croissants are the only edible option. No hot food and they don’t replace food - once it’s gone it’s gone! We complained about the awful smell in the rooms but they weren’t even interested. This was the most expensive hotel if our trip - €200 a night. Shocking! Don’t expect much. Except the view.

Although owners don't advise about building works, it's a marvellous place ti go. Beach next to hotel is a wonderful beach. Restaurant is another extra point to take account. If you go, check if it is possiblr to get a room with sea veaw.

    A mixed Saga in Asturias

    rating21 Jun 2017

This hotel is in a beautiful setting in probably the most attractive part of Spain and with superb staff. For the first time, we booked through Saga and their local rep was absolutely fantastic. The journey there and back with Brittany Ferries was another story and will be covered in another report.A week or so before departure, Saga rang us to say they had been advised of minor building works that may last until mid June. We regret that Saga swallowed that story, as the built!ding work was very major and it is difficult to imagine that it will be finished before September. I was unwell for a day or two and attempting a day's rest was impossible, with the sound of drilling, banging and heavy trucks being highly invasive. Our Rep was enormously helpful and the hotel management tried to make up by offering extra trips. As mentioned, Asturias is stunning, but I wonder whether Saga were not told the whole truth.Having said that, the breakfast was much the same as may be expected in a 3 star Spanish hotel. Lunch was plentiful and some of the Tapas really nice. Dinner was OK, with choices of fish and meat and the staff were attentive and good humoured throughout. (Many are not familiar with English, so a phrase book may help.)A final word about the weekends. It will be no surprise that local people also love the white-sanded beaches and there is a positive swarm from Friday onwards. HotelKaype, Dpto. Atención al cliente at Hotel Kaype - Quintamar, responded to this review Thank you for your comments. We are sorry for the inconveniences as we are currently working on improving our facilities. We assure you will enjoy our refurbish rooms, more confortable and modern in your next visit.

    Beach Side Hotel

    rating13 Jun 2017

Overall the hotel provided a good standard. The staff were helpful even offered us a different room on the night of a wedding being held there. We were even invited to the evening disco. Our room was quite dark and on a shared terrace above cafe/dining room. Partial view of beach disappointing. Didn't like the shared terrace. On the other hand when harvesting of sea weed started we were not disturbed by the tractors noise or lights. We enjoyed the area and done a lot of walks from the hotel and further afield. The hotel organized two traditional dancing programs very enjoyable. Driving was easy. My only complaint is the Saga rep promised to send photos but she didn't. On the other hand she really looked after us. Would have liked a pool even though it's on the beach. Building work starting to develop hotel it might get to big. The old rooms all need a up grade. Loved the original hotel lobby but a little stale smelling. HotelKaype, Dpto. Atención al cliente at Hotel Kaype - Quintamar, responded to this review Thank you very much for your lovely comments. We are happy you enjoyed your stay at Kaype-Quintamar Hotel. We look forward your next visit to Llanes.
