Outdated hotel with great location
Great location, but the hotel feels outdated. The 90 cm bed is too narrow for a comfortable night's sleep. The air conditioning is noisy, and opening the window isn't a good option because of the traffic noise. The wall-to-wall carpet also feels unhygienic by today's standards.Breakfast was average, the bar was closed, and the parking behind the hotel was convenient.Great location, but the hotel feels outdated. Stay 20 till May 25 th 2026 .Dirty floor bathroom hairs and dust on the floor. Dirty shower mold and dirt rust. I stayed five days. Single room four days and complained twice with different reception emplayees once with a cleaner and the fourth time manager front office I asked and got a different room for the last night. I had a wonderful stay at the Mercure Hotel Trier Porta Nigra. The highlight was definitely the exceptional view of the Porta Nigra (“Black Gate”) — such a unique and memorable experience right from the room.The location is perfect for exploring Trier, with major sights just steps away.
